Doubtful the knife belonged to Mr. Shaw. It's a complimentary salesman's premium, probably handed out to favored customers in the wine business. Agreed the Rothschilds were, and are, a major political and monetary force, but this one is known for his wine Chateaux, one of which is Chateau Mouton where, in 1930, the famous Bordeaux, "Mouton Cadet" was developed. It's really a nice wine for beef dishes. If you like the knife, they guy has another one. Let me know. O'.

Yet another thrift store find, picked up this little guy a few days ago for 8 bucks. Don't know much about it off the top of my head, but if I'm not mistaken it was made by the Syracuse Knife Company, possibly in the 1950's.
Also has a bit of rust on it (hey, what do you want for a sub $10 thrift store purchase) that I might try to go about removing. Should I try soaking it in something like CLR, or just leave it as is?

Yeah man. Don't make a special trip for me or anything, but if you find yourself in the same store and pick it up, I bet we could work out an amicable trade

Haven't posted in a while because i haven't had much to show. Finally was able to get out and find a decent knife. Boker USA 6006 Congress with jigged red bone handles.

BOKER over USA was their last American stamp, 1945-1983. Can't say where your knife falls in there but I'd guess on the earlier half. Nice one. I have the same knife. Congress knives seem to be making a comeback.

I'm a sucker for -65s and -47s, two of the first Case patterns I started collecting. When I saw this -47 Whittler I just had to have it. Now I just need the 2 blade version . . .
