Man is that gorgeous. The blades, the bolsters, the antler, swell center, the condition. Absolutely beautiful in every way. Five thumbs up.

Harold, those are questions I also have. Not much to be found about it online. It is a very well built knife. Could be rehandled, don't know.
The markings are: Kabar Boot Hill ... KCC0. .... DMB 88
Before buying it, I found a sold listing here, not in stag, on AAPK:
https://www.allaboutpocketknives.com/ca ... order=DESC

Nice Boot Hill knife Tony. That is first time I’ve seen that one in stag. I’m fairly certain that these were made in Japan by Master Tak Fukuta. He also made the Kabar Dolphin and you can see similarities in the bolsters. I could be wrong about that, I know I couldn’t find anywhere where the manufacturer of these was confirmed when I sold that one you linked, otherwise I would have included that in the description.

I might have posted this one earlier in this thread, can’t remember. Some very find stag Henckels by Boker knives in my collection.

Thanks Mark, never thought of it being made by Tak Fukuta. The bolster does have the Tak look like on the Marbles Bench Made Knives. I did know about the Dolphin. No wonder this one caught my eye! ::hmm:: Knowing this, I am happier about buying it than I was. Does the 88 mean 1988?

I found another AAPK sold listing here:
https://www.allaboutpocketknives.com/ca ... tern-dmb88

Continuing my research, and will post it if I find more.

Very fine stag indeed on your Henckels and Bokers Mark!!

UPDATE: More info on the Kabar Boot Hill here on AAPK:
viewtopic.php?t=69037
According to this thread, it was made by Queen for the Kabar Collector's Club (KCC).

And from Worthpoint:
https://www.worthpoint.com/worthopedia/ ... cket-knife (Only 711 made in 1988)

That's enough info to convince me it wasn't rehandled.

Harold, thanks for the questions ... got me digging deeper! ::tu::

Not convinced yet Tony that Queen made this. I saw information posted about the Kabar Dolphin that was incorrectly attributed to Queen. Bill Howard confirmed that Queen did NOT make the Dolphin and he thought it looked Japanese. Sometimes folks assume a manufacturer that isn’t always correct. The Worthpoint doesn’t mention who made it either. Just about every Queen made Kabar I’ve seen has a double in the Queen world, but this one doesn’t so it makes me suspect that it might not be Queen that made it, but who knows for sure?
Interesting that I have not seen a stag version of that Boot Hill, maybe I have and just forgot.

::tu:: on not being convinced Mark. You guys know more than I, and I glean much info from this forum. When you mentioned the Dolphin was incorrectly attributed to Queen, it sparked a memory of reading that very thing. I can't remember where though. What do you think about the bolster looking like a Marbles bench made Tak knife? Hey, you know I would be thrilled if I had another Seki made! Thanks Mark ::handshake::

That’s an obvious tell. I’m pretty sure those were all made by Tak Fukuta. Hope this helps.

Goes to show that Henckels required a higher standard than Boker used on their own knives. Much like Queen compared to Shatt and Morgan.
