Re: KNIFE FINDS OF THE DAY
One of Eric's knives sold pretty well, and supposedly it had been sharpened.
Pocket, fixed, machete, axe, it's all good!

That's pretty low for resale on his, but probably because it was sharpened as you mentioned.1967redrider wrote: ↑Wed Aug 27, 2025 12:54 pm One of Eric's knives sold pretty well, and supposedly it had been sharpened.
Eric DOES make a fine knife though!

Snagged this 6-dot rail splitter at a great little show recently. Carries nicely in the pocket

Picked up yesterday at a rummage sale.A Uncle Henry LB6 made in the USA with all the paper and original box and sleeve. He had $15 on it because he had looked up on line what a new one cost which was $35 (China). I told him it was worth more than that and offered him $25. The marks on the bolster are reflections from leaves above where I took the picture. A week ago I picked up this Chicago Cut lock back at a gun show. It's now my carry knife.____Dave

Re: KNIFE FINDS OF THE DAY
Went to an Estate Sale Saturday and found this. Nothing special, but a bit different. It is a solid brass letter opener made in India. When I bought it, it was basically tar black due to the lack of caring and years of built up patina / tarnish, whatever one chooses to call it. If it had been a normal two sided, double edged letter opener, I probably wouldn't have bought it. But I liked the looks of it, and more so because it was brass. When I got it home, I said to myself; 'self, lets give this a scrub with Nevr-dull and some Mother's and see what happens. I scrubbed & rubbed for about 20 minutes and wasn't making much headway due to the longevity of the tarnish. Once again, I said to myself...'self', you have a polishing machine...work smarter, not harder.
I got the blade done, then realized I didn't take "before photos".
Anyway...here's what I get for my 45 minutes of work. I'm pretty pleased with the outcome. I went back yesterday to the same Estate venue, taking the letter opener with me to show the seller the outcome. They couldn't believe the amazing looks of that. I told them it's now worth $30.00 if they would like to buy it back.
I paid $10.00 for it due to it being the first day of the sale.

Re: KNIFE FINDS OF THE DAY
When I went back to the Estate sale venue yesterday, they had this Case XX 6254. I believe it's a 2001 model, 9 dot with Cranberry bone handles. If I'm wrong on this, please correct me. I don't want to put the wrong description on it in my files. It's been carried, but still in a most excellent condition. I paid $50.00 for it. I don't believe I overpaid.
Thanks for looking.

You got a good deal I think. The script shield and cranberry bone are both attractive and desirable.KLJ77 wrote: ↑Mon Sep 01, 2025 3:48 pm When I went back to the Estate sale venue yesterday, they had this Case XX 6254. Did you haggle for a wheel barrow too?
That's my Etsy store where I sell old knives and sometimes handmade knife accessories to support my knife habbit. Thanks for looking my friend.

Re: KNIFE FINDS OF THE DAY
Gerber Greatest Hits gift set--$28 at Sam's Club.
LST:
A re-imagining of the original, with a different handle.
Little bit bigger than the Magnum LST Jr, but a better blade profile and handle. Clip and one-hand open as well.
At 3.7 closed and just over 1.5 ounces--it gets what I need done without weighing me down.
Carried it for over a week and it's perfect.
Harsey Air Ranger-G10.
I like the couple other Air Rangers I have (one is identical to the green-handled one in Scott's photo), but hate the aluminum handles. This one fixes that, and it feels like a higher end knife.
Paraframe.
I hate the handles on these, and they just feel cheap. I'd rather have Gerber included a small pry tool or mini knife (like the LST Mini).

Re: KNIFE FINDS OF THE DAY
Scott, it is good to see another Webster haul ... you mopped up this time! Wow!
The rest of you guys have found some beeeautiful pieces lately! Congrats!
I picked these up Labor Day weekend at flea markets, yard sales, and from a Case Collector.
I have not been a Case collector to date, but these 1965-69 & 70s may convert me.
