Here is a tiny gnarly stag weighing in at just 2" closed.

Tang stamp is "JAMES BODEN PATENT" in 3 lines. Blades still snap open and closed.

Goins ' book has this maker listed as 1841-1876 which makes this knife several years older than me.

Not sure what the patent refers to as the knife has no special feature other than being small.

I found James Boden listed in the 1857 Sheffield Directory as a spring knife manufacturer but could find nothing in reference to a patent.

If anyone has info on I would appreciate knowing.

What does it say out on the blade and on the tang?

I have this small pen knife, the blades do not have any reference to a patent.

I will have to look into this patent when I get some time.

At 4 5/8" this H&B hunter has some nice big pieces of stag.

Nice Bt,good ole maker and a great find in a knife that large.
