A spear point would be great.
Yeah, the lambsfoot blade is an acquired taste. Many people absolutely love them. But spear is probably the overall most commonly preferred.

Nice looking knife David! The copper/elk combo is a good match.

Simply spectacular, David!
I really like the copper bolsters, they're uncommon and really add a lot to the knife, IMO!

Thank you fellers! ::handshake:: Its a very well made knife. I love Elk covers. They did a very good lob on the Lambsfoot blade also. Most dont get the design very well. Its the subtle differences that make the Lambsfoot what it is.

I just stumbled on to this part of the forum. Wow I didnt know that Daniels family was still making knives - looks like pretty limited production and probably pretty tough to get I would assume.

I have a tuna Valley Rail Splitter in Mammoth and would love to add another DF knife or 2 to my collection.

Problem is I'm not much into trappers barlows or Jacks - not sure why but those patterns seem to be everywhere right now. I really love large sunfish style knives with 3 blades or more - Stockman, Gunstock, Canoe, equal end patterns etc. any chance of those types of traditional patterns?

And how would I get a chance to own one?
Thanks a bunch

Their website has a list of dealers for each brand of knife they offer. Some patterns/releases sell out faster than others, but if you keep an eye out you would have no issue getting one before they are all gone. I know they have a lot of old historic patterns in mind for re-creating over the next 1-3 years.

And here you go. Everything is spot on with this knife- centering, fit and finish, crisp angles and the size. ::groove::

A cool little add on is the recessed scale rivets.

**Edit to add - SOLD OUT - Wow! Can't believe it. Sold out in 3 hours. Thanks to all who were interested and for the compliments!**

This one is very special. Some of you know of my family's history of making maple syrup here in northwestern Pennsylvania (not too far from Titusville). I'm the 5th generation in my family to make it. We do it the old fashioned way, using buckets, and some of the trees we tap are ones my great-great grandfather planted over 130 years ago.

Since I have access, I really wanted to have a knife made to pay homage to my family's history, and especially the maple syrup theme. I had 25 of these knives made, called the "Syrup Maker Special" with red birdseye maple handles, and the rear tangstamp has my name in a maple leaf. They were built on the Titusville Cutlery Old Man Jack frame. My goal was to give these knives out to my dad, uncles, siblings, daughter and niece. All those who have helped me over the years to make syrup.

The extras are being sold to help offset the cost. All the ones being sold will include a small bottle of maple syrup that we made this past March.

I just had to toot my own horn here a tad and say how cool it is to have a knife made with my name on it, honoring my family hobby. I was able to design a sheepsfoot with longpull for this knife, which had not yet been offered by DFKB. I also had the knives serialized on the rear side of the blade, so I could give #'s out to match the birthday of my family members. #1 is staying in my gunsafe to keep preserved.

Overall, I love how they turned out. Great color, nice and thin to fit in your pocket. My wife made the artwork on the COA, and the tube label. And she made the breakfast we used for the photo! I do have a handful available, if anyone is interested please PM me for more photos and details.

Thanks Rick! I'm toying with the idea of another run sometime in the future. The response was amazing, and I've had over a dozen guys say they wish they could have grabbed one as well. If/when the day comes I plan on doing more of these, I'll give you a heads up.
