The RoseCraft Blades Stinking Creek Sowbelly RCT023-STG is a one-bladed jack that features a 2.7″ D2 modified clip point blade with a brushed satin finish, a half stop, and heavy swedging. It has genuine red deer stag covers with brushed stainless steel bolsters, liners, and nickel silver pins. It does not have a shield. It’s 3.875″ closed, 6.6″ overall and weighs 3oz. This is an original pattern designed by Andy Armstrong.

The RoseCraft Blades Sweetwater Creek Senator Stag is a one-bladed Senator pattern that features a 2.7” D2 lambsfoot blade with a brushed satin finish, a half-stop and heavy swedging. It has genuine red deer stag covers with brushed stainless steel bolsters, liners, and nickel silver pins. It has no shield and is 3.5” closed, 6.2” overall, and weighs just 2.4oz. This pattern was inspired by other traditional Senator patterns and re-imagined by Andy Armstrong.

I REALLY want one with black micarta/G-10/ebony, but they seem hard to come by, unless they're priced stupidly.

This pattern only comes in stag and red sandalwood at this time, and this is RoseCraft's first lambsfoot.

Actually, I think I'm mistaken and have our knives mixed-up, Tony, my Senator is made by A. Wright and I didn't read your post well enough to see this knife is made by RCB. I might be ordering one sooner than I thought!

It may be the 1st RCB single blade with a lamb's foot but one blade in the Briarpatch Jack is closer to a lamb's foot than anything else.

This is a very popular knife that sold out very quickly when first released.
In addition to the Vintage Moss Brown, it will also be offered in Stag.
I should have these in stock this coming weekend, but I cannot sell any until the 13th.

I have become somewhat addicted to this brand. Here are all the ones I have purchased so far and it all started with the Cane Creek Jack in the upper left corner of the picture. I think I need to take a photography class. I am by no means an expert, just a collector, but IMO all of these knives are beautifully made with quality materials and craftsmanship. Whatever your knife needs are, this brand is ready to go to work right out of the box or just become an excellent addition to your collection. My only negative is they are heavier than most other brands of the same or similar pattern and size but that might be a positive for someone else. Okay now that I've finished my commercial advertising I'll give our own member Tony at Corn Creek Cutlery a free ad and tell you don't go by what I say about the brand, purchase your own from Tony and decide for yourself.

Got this Nolichucky Jack as a gift from knifeaddict1965. It's a "2nd" and on the bottom of the box someone wrote "minor scratches" but I'm having a hard time finding any. At first, I thought it had a crack in the mark side handle, but it's not a crack...just a line in the bone apparently (I think it adds character!)

This is a really nice knife. I must say I am impressed with it and also with my other Rosecraft knife: a French Broad with Rosewood handle that Ivoryman gave me. They're both very well made knives that feel great in the hand.

At the risk of stating the obvious, whoever rejected your knife described that "line in the bone" that "adds character" as a scratch. Can you think of a better single word to describe it? I suspect it and the short crevice that starts at the left end of the pile side were accidentally created during manufacture. I have no doubt either one individually would have made your Jack a 2nd. Rosecraft is picky.

I like the way their springs feel flush and smooth in all three positions. I wish they made more models with multiple blades. However, to match your tastes, there might be a smaller model with a single blade that's almost a Wharncliffe.

Herb showed me one of those Nolichucky Jacks on Saturday, and I have to say the fit and finish are spot on.

I received an email from concerned parties a couple days ago about Rose craft's usage of the Lick Creek name on their latest release. I contacted the company CEO Andy Armstrong to discuss the usage of my name brand and he quickly and courteously responded.
GEC had been informed by constituents of the usage because( I had been asked and given Bill Howard permission to use this name for his #14s, which I was to be a part of) of their Lick Creek #14 line. Here's his response for those interested and those not interested :

"Mr. Fry,

Thanks for reaching out and bringing this to my attention. Because we’re located in the state of Tennessee, we chose to honor our state by naming all but four of our traditional slip joint patterns after Tennessee bodies of water.

If you’ll look on our website, you’ll see the 20+ patterns with names of this nature, including our 004 Holston River Surgeon, 005 Clinch River Swayback, 006, Beaver Creek Barlow, 007 French Broad Jack, 009 Ocoee River Kayak, 010 Loosahatchie Jack, 011 Nolichucky Jack, 012 Briarpatch Jack, 013 Cane Creek Jack, 014 Savage Creek Gunstock, 015 Obed River Bow Trapper, 016 Mosquito Lake Moose, 017 Tanasi Lake Tear Drop, 018 Sequatchie River Muskrat, 020 Otter Creek Barlow, 021 Sweetwater Creek Senator, 022 Overall Creek Farm Hand, 023 Stinking Creek Sowbelly, and now the 025 Lick Creek Loom Fixer.

Now, I’m happy to place a disclaimer in the description of that product that makes people fully aware that our product is named solely after a body of water in Tennessee (like most every other knife in our traditional lineup) and make sure that everyone knows that it is in no way associated with the Lick Creek Cutlery brand.

So are these guys actually going to move production to the US? I have a few of their knives, they are very pretty and they seem to be really well built. My concern is that they are already close to Case prices. If they do end up moving production to the US, what will the prices look like?

It’s been estimated that to duplicate a high-end titanium Chinese knife on US soil with US labor and materials would be 2-3 times the cost to the consumer. The skilled US labor alone to duplicate the knife is 5-6 times the Chinese labor. It’s a tough game for US cutlery companies right now, we’ll see if the tariffs that have been discussed help to level the playing field.
