All About Pocket Knives

FYI the comments about cameras...

I have a two AA Sony. I put Low Self Discharging NimH batteries in it and it lasts QUITE well.
I was able to also two AA my sisters Kodak as well even though it took a propriatery battery.

here is one that came home with me yesterday im pretty sure its a frost cutlery it has solingen steel blades and black comp handels not bad for three bucks

here is a odd one i picked up this morning its a saxonia cutl. co germany it has some thick stag handels ive never heard of saxonia cutl. co. what can anybody tell me about this knife thanks everybody

I remember reading somewhere that Saxonia being a state of Germany, the maker of this knife may be unknown. I believe they where only made during the 1930s. Someone may have better information for you.

Saxonia is also a city in switzerland...nice knife...

this is the pesky battery that can not be replaced by triple a's...dang.
i have three of them..keep the charge the same period of time...in use or not.

the battery has three prongs...so no way to replace..even though it is a kodak z760 camera.

I see what you mean. I got my Sony at an office supply for what I thought was a great price!

I also made sure it was able to take AA batteries!

thanks everybody i just picked it up for the stag handels and it was cheap had no idea on the adge

I'm so happy with these two knives I got at the Easton, Pa. knife show I think I'll pour out all my knives from my knife box and roll in them like a dog.

I really dig both of them. ::envy::

Joe you're two for two on punching my buttons with those. That old jack just eminates old time class and that Canal Street pinch lockback is quality through and through. In my opinion you have excellent taste in cutlery.

Did you get to meet any of the AAPK folks at the show?

Yes, I did meet several guys there. I met Steve Pfeiffer right away. I also met Galvanic and Sauconian.
I'm sure I have there forum names misspelled. I apologize.
Steve had two tables of knives that I and many others couldn't stop looking at. I bought the Penn dogleg jack from Steve. It was a real pleasure to meet these guys. We enjoyed looking at each others knives, and they were very knowledgeable. Galvanic had four or five knive there that were dropdead georgeous. I cradled them in my rag so as not to touch them. I opened them with my rag pinched around the blade. I wish he would show them.
I also met BigDen. He was busy with his table. He had some very nice knives as well.
I met two or three other guys in a short introduction and I'm sorry I don't recall their forum names.
Also, the nice fella at Canal Street Cutlery, Mike, is also a member.
So for me, it was a great time. I sure like my knives.

i didn't make it for saturday, we had 2 grandkids friday nite and into saturday, it was my grandsons first sleepover, and with the new australian sheppard it would be too much for my wife. so we only had our granddaughter for sunday, but she sleeps here every other weekend. all the dogs love her.
but sunday i went down to easton. dennis was gone-aka bigben-, i bought one of steves books, he had a very nice and diverse selection, but no easy opens. there only about 6 easy opens in the whole show, guess they got cleaned out on sat.
i did manage to buy an old bone imperial, their early 20s tang stamp, and a single blade klein. also a camillus automatic.
wish i could show em. some guy was selling his knives way over my buget, he had the other easy opens. near mint boker and a nky. but for 400 apiece i had to pass. also had a remington brass for 500. pass on that too.
canal street mike-aka dphunter- was there with his wares. he had a custom center swell jack that i drolled over, but again 500plus, had to pass by that one too,,,,,and pass by, and pass by etc.
had a great time as usual, learned a few things as usual, now if i can only remember what it was..
sure wish i could have been there sturday too, but family comes first...
there is a knife show in lancaster soon, i have to try and get the dates for that one, maybe someone here knows about it. i forgot, ken daniels was there too with the gec setup,, another group of fine fine cutlery...
also talked for a spell with sauconian, he brought some of his easys from his own collection, wanted me to see em, but he just wouldn't let go of em. they were too nice and i don't blame him.

Gringo.......I'm glad you guys liked the knives. Sometimes have to pinch myself to realize I own such things.
The Lord has some strange friends and I'm greatful to count myself as one.
Mike, I happened to snap a couple pictures of Steve at his table but I don't know how he feels about it being put up here.
