Paid for it on Friday but ecop! doesn't ship on weekends so I'll just have to wait until probably next Thursday or so to get it in hand. It's a Winchester with USA stamped on the tang but it sure looks Chinese to me (and the price supports that). I don't recall seeing any Winchester mini-trappers but my memory is getting so bad........... Maybe ~Q~ knows more about it.

Edit: Just found it on Discount Cutlery and in their description they say "Made in China".

Jerry I think the knife was made in China.
Where the knife you purchased has Winchester Trade Mark USA
The ones made in the USA.

All ~Q~ knows about Winchester knives is that I've never seen a (new) made in USA Winchester knife with a retail price of $10.98! The price and the tang stamp, as you and Shearer respectively observed, suggest a Pacific Rim manufacturer.

Winchester did make at least two mini trappers (that I know of): the .22 Hornet (model #29004 1/2) for the cartridge series; and a "small" (3 3/8") Delrin handled mini trapper (model #29009)--both of which I believe were actually made by Queen:
PB060003.JPG
P9150009.JPG
And also model 2904 1/2 which, at 3 7/8", could be considered either a "big" mini trapper or a "medium" trapper (it's 3/8" smaller than a traditional, full-size 4 1/4" trapper, and 3/8" larger than a traditional 3.5" mini trapper--so take your pick)...which I also believe was made by Queen:

P9190020.JPG
This is probably a question for another forum, but as long as we're on the subject...
Are any Winchester knives currently being manufactured in the USA?

The knife looks like it has pins through the bolsters.I would say made before 1960.They started to using the Swindon System in 1960.

Thank you Grant. That last picture was the one that you showed me when I got my first Ulster 63.

Well after missing out on a Geo Schrade wire handle jack AND a Craftsman 9494 knife yesterday (wi-fi down), I bounced back today with another Ulster 63 knife. Unlike the first Ulster 63 that I bought, this one HAS the shield. It isn't the earlier version as the pattern # is on the main tang stamp, not on the opposite side. When I get it, I'll give it a cleaning and repost MY pictures in the proper location. These pictures are the seller's.

I really like that one! I saw them back when I was first getting into Imperials, but have never bought one of those deer handled ones yet. I have lost count at how many times I've had to do that. And out of probably 2 dozen plus purchases of those lots, I can name only 2 or 3 in which I actually found the other knives in it that the knife I bought it specifically for came with either good for my collection, or at least a decent user. At least those little Imperials are still good knives. I've got one I've been meaning to make a bail for (it's broke off) and put on my keychain.

I'm not 100% sure that it is an Imperial. The other one I have is a Kingston. Once I clean those tangs, I'll know for sure.
You should click on the link above, if you haven't already, start on page 1 and check out what is posted, some VERY cool cutlery! ::tu::

Good stuff Skip ::tu:: ::handshake::
Happy you are picking up a few Imperials! Besides anything Queen related, Imperials are my next love. Those 4 look really good! I keep on see those deer knives on ebay. Need to pick up myself one or two... ::hmm::
I didn't know you liked Imperials too Cody. They are cheap, plentiful, and a lot of fun! Perfect for a cash strapped, 20 something, year old.
Please keep posting your examples guys! I started a thread "100,000 A Day" to recognize them. I'll bump it back up to the top, right away.
Good stuff guys!

I obtained this Camillus 1047 Scout Knife a couple of hours ago. It has the "federal" style shield and it appears that the handles are in much better condition than the last 1047 I bought. I'll clean it when I get it and I'll repost MY pictures in the proper location(s).
These pictures are the seller's.

Bought this Camillus 1047 Scout knife a couple of hours ago. Looks like the third time IS the charm. Looks to be the best handles on a 1047, with this style of shield, that I've bought so far. Doesn't seem to be any shrinkage on either handle. No gap between the handles and bolsters. No cracks in the handles or pieces of the handles missing. The blades look decent also. I will give it a light cleaning when I receive it and repost MY pictures in the proper location. These pictures are the seller's.

Impulse buy:

Gardner Bender KF-200 electrician's knife. Mainly because the photo Amazon and the GB website show a Colonial Ranger; a USA model. From what I understand, this is not what's currently being sold. And the card says "MADE IN CHINA". If it's a current Colonial Knife Co.; I don't mind. 440C is a really good steel. And if it's some assorted POS--that's what next years POS Exchange is for.

To me, this doesn't look Colonial. Blades are way too thick.

Got this 62055 7 dot coming in after the holiday. Blades show patina as does the knife overall but the edge doesn't look like its been touched. The fron and back cover don't look even close color-wise. May be better than it shows in the pics.

Hey Steve. I was looking at that one also. kasy sell's only legit knives. Yours is a classic example of case red bone knives. You can get the same thing with green bone ones also. One side darker/lighter then the other. That one really caught my eye also but I decided to pass him up for the AAPK GEC and a funky transition Queen. Glad you snapped her up! ::tu::

Thanks Willy. I thought I was lucky no one else was that interested. One other bidder and he wasn't that interested. I'll clean out the well and oil and wax her up and put it in my pocket.
