Nice Charlie, I too haven’t seen those covers. I like them, I almost always like natural bone on anything.

My First canoe was a Fight‘n Rooster canitler with waterfall scales. When the scales started to break down, I pulled them. What was once a very pretty knive isn’t so attractive now. I even bought spalted both scale blanks, but have yet to muster the courage to attempt the repair.

Thanks. I'm undecided as to whether I should "redneck engineer" the repair or hand it off to someone who knows what they are doing. I've been watching a couple of the real knife mechanics here. I want to try my hand at repairing/modifying knives but bought a box of 4 "junkers" to practice on.
