What a difficult time of year!

Chilly here. Currently 37 degrees, predicted high and low of 45 and 29. Slushy snow came in yesterday. It could be worse, though, such as the severe floods in Australia and South Africa.

I have a neighbor cutting their grass in the snow storm we are having right now..

Today we have had pouring snow, sleet, rain, sun, clouds, HARD snow.. And a combo of any 2-3 you wanna pick..

Them 2 ole volcano's that blew last fall, down in the Fiji/Philippians, have thrown everything outta wack. All that ash upstairs, cooling off everything down here.
They didn't call it the "black summer" for nothing, when Vesuvius blew in 1811, the year before. And again in 1882, when big ole Krakatoa blew her lid off.

Such is life living on this wild ball called Earth. One expects such things, when most of it is made up of molten rock and gas, only a few thousand feet under where we are sitting.

So the CRAZY roller coaster weather continues.. Yesterday was 86.. Today is supposed to be the same and the high by Wednesday is supposed to be 39... Then back into the high 50s/low60s..

Weather roller coaster continues here also. So far we’ve had a relatively cooler, dryer spring here. Been windy for several days. Yesterday high temp was low 80s with a humid south wind 15 mph. Then yesterday evening another cold front came through which triggered some slow moving thunderstorms. We got 1.4 inches of badly needed rain. Currently a sunny 55 degrees with a northerly breeze and forecast high today 65.

Finally! 1 inch of rain Sunday night and 1.4 inches early this morning. We need it. 52 degrees though, which is way below normal for this time of year.

Yes, it certainly was Ike.

Water water everywhere . . . Spent the morning cleaning out ditches and opening breakers.

We survived the derecho that hit Sioux Falls at 5PM yesterday. Lots of damage in other parts of town and country locales. One of the neighbors trampolines went airborne and was headed right for the back of our house when it got stuck between my neighbors garage and a tree. If it had not stopped there it would have hit the back of our house and smashed the patio doors. 85 to 100 mph straight line winds. Quite a few semi trucks blown over off the interstates.

OC, that was forecast to hit here also. Went more to the north and died down. Had some rolling clouds of dust but only sprinkles of rain. After record high temps in the 90’s for 2 days some normal spring weather for a week or so.

Overcast, hot, muggy and a chance of thunder storms.
