I don't think our temp got below 34 either. I looked out there a little while ago and it was all gone like it never happened. Hopefully that is our big snow event for 2023, I just don't care for it in any amount.

I'm getting a pretty good wallop of snow. It's slushy and still falling. Makes me wish I had a heated driveway.

It just got worse a few minutes ago, it started sleeting really heavy in our area.
Temp is 26 degrees and that seems to be as high as it will get today. the wind
chill is 14 degrees.

It’s been rain/sleet mixture off and on since about noon today. High temp was about 28°. It’s 25° now. Just got back from feeding critters and checking water. There’s about a quarter inch of solid ice coating everything. Had to use a hammer to knock the ice off gate latches. Any hard surfaces are as slick as &$#*@, but I could drive and walk where there’s grass underneath - the ice there is crunchy.

It’s still coming down - sleet was bouncing off my hat. Supposed to continue at least through tomorrow but be back above freezing Wednesday morning. Meanwhile it’s gonna be a mess. Can’t drive on icy roads unless you’re in an Abrams tank!

High today was a pleasant 2 degrees. Tonight headed to -15, and -30 windchill.
Read today that we have already received more snow this winter season than the yearly average. Gonna be a long winter.

83 at Starvation Plantation today.
Guess what? It is only 4 months and one day til Hurricane season. I suppose we have some sort of trade off from season to season.

Fortunately, here the cold only lasts a couple of days before it warms up again.

Texas cold? That is laughable. Try -11 and -25 wind chill currently in northern Iowa. I’ll still take it over hurricanes.

I hear you, but it only proves that you’ve never been to Amarillo. It may not be that cold, but it feels like it is. Subzero temperatures aren't uncommon, and it's always windy.

47° on the drive in this morning, but it's raining now and the temperature is supposed to plummet.

Currently 24 degrees (wind chill 12) with a high of 27 expected. About a 38% chance of more rain/sleet.

24° here too, 10 mph north wind, snowing. Hoping the snow accumulates on top of the ice and creates some traction. Also hoping the power stays on.

The good news is we have quite a variety of birds at the feeders.

It's currently 16 degrees hereabouts, but sunny and not snowing. I miss the mild winters I experienced when living in central California, but not much of the trade-off that came with them

Winter weather storm warning has been extended here until noon Thursday. Was originally supposed to end Tuesday but they keep extending it by 12 to 24 hours at a time. Currently 29 ° and light rain, which is freezing on top of the ice and snow we already have. Saying it might get above freezing by tomorrow evening. Then a possibility of more freezing rain Thursday night.

Today was a beautiful winter day in northern Iowa, sunshine, blue skies, light south breeze, and 18 degrees.
But all changes tomorrow PM, -12 and Friday high maybe 6 above.

Another blizzard here on the northern plains. I29 and I90 both closed out of Sioux Falls, snow and wind for the next couple of days.

Could you just keep that in SD? I’m just on the edge of the blizzard warning here in NW Iowa. Currently is snowing.

Still Snowing. Since yesterday we’ve had about 15 inches so far. More coming .

I wish we would get some here.
