GEC question:

The new Boys Knife, the Collector Knives site says 3.5" But the GEC release says 3"

What is the truth? See I could get one of those in Ebony with no blade etch. At 3.5 that would be the Cats Meow!

I called GEC yesterday with that very same question. The lady that answered the phone (Chirstine Tucker??) said she happened to have one laying on her desk and she measured it. She said, "it's just shy of 3-1/2"", which is what everyone else has been saying right along.

There's been a lot of confusion surrounding this knife. Personally I think it's because they're simultaneously bringing out two patterns with the same pattern number. Both are made on the same frame and they are running them through production in parallel. They are also releasing both at the same time. That along with one of the patterns is Charlies SFO (Barlow) and the other is GEC's pattern (Boy's Knife). On top of that, there was a mistake in the Art Dept. concerning the closed length. I bet they'll be glad to move on to the Buckaroo.

Why thank you Jerry, figured I would jump on in. Really like the easy navigation of the site. Seams like some great folks around here to ::handshake::

The 53 was a long trip to get to. It has now been in my pocket for about 2 months and its been a pleasure. Perfect combination of blades with a bunch of well thought out features. From the nail pull on the sheepsfoot being on the mark side to the fact its lower riding then any other I have come across. The California clip grew on me as well and I love how thin it is.

I'm not much on clip blades but the California clip, muskrat, Turkish clip make my eyes shine. That combination of blades make my eyes shine. I should probably mung around and find one for myself.

Edit: and this is a great place. There's a good bunch of guys here. Knowledgeable, friendly and generous.

Around the house this morning I am carrying this little guy. Does not get near the pocket time it deserves. One of my daughters has laid claim to it(she is a little young right now) and is patiently waiting for it :)

Rockgolfer - Nice EDC choices, and ::welcome:: !

Cutty, I think that is a bit of a handful compared to the boys knife! Beautiful Jack.

Junebug, I always have been a fan of how stout and useful the 25s are, and that one's a beauty!
(Always been a big fan of pinup art as well …)

Nice knives all around … ::tu:: ::tu::
