Nice old ebony EO Jack John. A classic look with the spear master and badge shield.

JohnR's EO does not have a spear master. I stand corrected.

Thanks guys, Steve, I thought the master was a spear, it does have a different shape than some of my other spears, what would you call it?

What would you call but a spear blade?

Isn't the spear in the back position? I didn't think so at first but in looking at again when I made the post, it looked like it was in the back position.

Aside from that, can a back position blade on a jack knife be the master? If so, then I clearly don't know what I'm talking about.

That happens a lot. :)

Steve, the pen is in front of the main but I think the larger blade is still called the main, I know on my Case Barlows they changed the position of the pen from front to back over the years and the larger was still the main. Of course I could be wrong also :)

Another great pickup, John! ::tu:: IMHO the master can be on the pile side of a jack.

Per our terminology tab in Research, the master is the largest blade in a multi blade knife.

So the spear is the master. Of course, the knife already knew that. ::doh::

I apologize for the distraction. ::dang::

They are amazing Joe . Well worn but the half stops and the snap of the blades is a testament to what a quality knife they were.
