I was going through knives today & came across a couple I thought I would post. The first one is stamped Baldwin Cutlery. It doesn't say if it's PA or NY though?

The second one is T. Hessenbruch. It really isn't necessarily a PA knife, but it is PA related. T. Hessenbruch was a hardware/retailer in Philadelphia. LG4 says USA/Ger made.

Bret got me the Hessenbruch for Christmas. It's really a quality knife. The bear tang stamp is also cool!

I am trying to load pictures on to a personal album, so I am taking all kinds of scans. I just scanned this Schatt & Morgan Dollar knife. At 5 inches closed, it's a big bugger.

BRADFORD PA. on this one. TESTED XX 61096 on the back side.

I wish I could, but I don't have a current price guide either. Maybe one of the others might?

JKB, '04 Sargents has it listed at $900. And has a pic thats a dead ringer for yours, only yours is in better shape.

Is that S&M a true "DOLLAR KNIFE" if so it will be marked as such. There is a some misunderstanding out there on these knives. Just a side note the bear stamping on the Phila knife (LOVE IT BY THE WAY) is for "I Bear Inspection" a close up of the stamp would be self explanatory.

I skimmed over the Dollar Knife book when we got it & I believe the book said that towards the end of S&M, Dollar knives were just stamped Schatt & Morgan. I don't have access to my book right now, but I can reread it later this afternoon. I could be wrong so I will recheck the book.

At the top of page 13, the History of Dollar Knives was what led me to believe my yellow S&M is a Dollar Knife. It says "At some time during their last years Schatt & Morgan marketed a Dollar Knives line using the classic Schatt & Morgan Titusville tang stamp exclusively." It does seem somewhat confusing to me, because on page 15, it also states that "But these synthetic handled knives which in the past have been (inaccurately) called "Dollar knives" by this writer and others, do not appear to be historical Schatt & Morgan "Dollar Knife Corporation" knives."

Here is the close up of the "I bear inspection" stamp & a picture of the back of the Hessenbruch. It was a nice gift!

Nice knife and good example of that era. As for the Dollar Knife, you now see why I question your comment. I too have one similar and thought it was a "Dollar Knife" but now do not feel that way. I just bought last month a true "Dollar Knife" as it is stamped as such on the tang. It is S&M made, but for the Atlanta office of Dollar Knife. Lesson learned for all of us. David Clark is on this thread and may chime in again. If you search Dollar knife, you will see we have had this discussion before. NEAT STUFF

I picked this one up at a gunshow in Ohio today. It's stamped Baldwin Cut. Co. on the main blade & Tidioute PA. on the small one.

JUST WHEN YOU THOUGHT I HAD ENOUGH OF PA RELATED KNIVES!!!!!!!!!!
