That sounds right, Jason; I have one or two I won't keep. They are quite nice. This gives me a good place to ask a question---- was the bone for these 80s and 90s knives coming from a German source?

This is no way as nice as some have displayed here.

That 8OT is still mighty functional as a tool.

I found this Old Timer watch a few years ago. It's from the 1980s and I think I remember a former salesman from the company telling me they were giving these to dealers.

Wow ! thanks for all the info everyone. I'd like to start a collection of these old bone handled knives but man, they are kind of pricey these days. Like everything else. That watch is pretty awesome.

Got an older Old Timer. At least I believe it's older. The tang stamp says ' schrade walden ny usa' it's kinda beat up. I like to think its a survivor of a bygone era.

I have not found an Old Timer, but have found this Schrade made cousin. Its only marking is Craftsman USA. 12 inch OAL.

Craftsman actually had both sizes of those.

I think the one I posted is called the old timer Maverick. It was only made for a few years. I would love to find one.

The Craftsman ad for 1968 shows their Schrade fixed blades. Craftsman often got to be first in line for new introductions by Schrade. The two blades we are discussing are shown but maybe hard to see? Those sheaths were made by an outfit in southern California for Sears. They had issues.

Not necessarily hard to find, but my humble accumulation. The 108OT in the box, I bought at a small smoke and blade shop in the Heritage Park Mall in Midwest City, OK in early 1983. I lived right around the corner and was on my second Air Force assignment (Tinker AFB) and had just recently re-enlisted at 21 yrs old. Carried it a few years and then put it away. Amazed I still have it. The 125OT is a Schrade-Walden and one of the few 125OTs I've seen without the lanyard hole. Not fancy or rare, but every one of them is a top notch quality tool.

Not a 'hard to find Old Timer' with a China stamp on it, but doesn't actually exist with a USA one. This was a very hard to find factory-finished prototype of a knife Schrade probably should have run with but they shelved the pattern instead. I believe Taylor was responsible for starting the Chinese version of this awesome little boot knife.

Yeah, Jason; I would have had to have one of those if they had made them. Can you imagine a Herman Williams dagger or a DU?

Oh yes.... I would surely have needed one of those if it was in production. That is a cool design!

I temporarily gave up on finding a 41OT but I did snag the Schrade/craftsman cousin. Should be here in a few days.
