For the most part, Napanoch and Titusville brand use 1095 carbon steel, and Tuna Valley uses CM154. Excelsior can be anything the knifemaker chooses. There of course could be exceptions to the rules, although I think so far everything is aligned that way. If a dealer chooses to do an SFO and have exclusive rights to sell the knives, and they front the bill, I assume they get to have a say in nearly every aspect.

Re: The latest release from Daniels Family Knife Brands
Are those the same size and/or built on the same frame as the Phoenix Jack?

Re: The latest release from Daniels Family Knife Brands
No, they are a different pattern. The Phoenix Jack were 3 5/8, and these are 3 3/4. Pretty close, but they are a completely different pattern number / frame.

Herb and I got to coonfinger one of those Hawes knives, they're quite a HAWG and spectacularly gorgeous. Truly a work of art!
I picked up an Old Man Jack in Catalina Wine Mixer bone from Ryan at the SVKCC show. It is gorgeous, excellent walk and talk and I love the color and jigging. 1 of 60.
