Sun is struggling to get through the hazy cloud cover. It’s up to 21 degrees but 14 mph north wind, so wind chill is 9. Didn’t take long to feed today!

One more day of sub-zero temps. Then 20’s and 30’s above for next two weeks. Will seem like a heat wave.

We had a chilly coffee walk this morning. Ice on the stream banks and the pond is frozen across, but I wouldn't want to test it. Currently 25° in Alexandria.

March does not give up easily here in Connecticut. Can't get out of the 40s.
I'm tired of being cold.

It is just warm enough that the forecasted snow is rain. Started about 3 pm and will likely continue most of tomorrow. We need it bad cuz we had very little snow all winter.

Old Man Winter has returned to Germany.
Those are cherry & yellow plum trees in front of my house

. They already bloomed so I hope this late cold spell doesn't ruin my humble harvist but it probably will.

And it's still snowing.
And I was just outside yesterday planting a few small bushes & some sorrel.

It was a little cool outside yesterday but I really wasn't expecting any more snow.
Wikipedia Link to Sorrel if anyone is interested in it.

I don't really know much about it but I wanted to try it as an added leafy herb in salads.

When 3.75 inches fall on saturated ground in less than 5 hours things can get interesting. The second snap shot is where old homer learned to swim about 71years ago. I shore wouldn't want to be in it today.

Looks like a lot of freshly plowed farmland going down the creek. Never a good time to get that much rain in 5 hours.

Just north of me about 10 miles the clean-up continues following that devastating tornado 2 days ago.
Cheryl had stepped out on the back patio with Griffin and she saw some lightening and other bright
flashes in the distance. What she didn't know at the time, it was the tornado hitting a truck stop on
IH-35 at Valley View full of people at the time.

That same storm killed 7 people in Valley View, then continued on an eastern path through several other towns in North Texas. National Weather Service is saying it was an EF-2 class tornado in Valley View. Then it hit Celina with an EF-3 (165 mph winds) where it destroyed several homes. Continued on several miles farther to our place, then on farther east. We were without power Saturday night, until it finally was restored late last night. Yesterday while we had no power we drove from west of Celina to several miles farther east of our place, following the path of destruction. Electric company crews and contractors were out in force clearing limbs from the power lines.
Fortunately our only damage was to numerous trees. Some big limbs fell across our driveway, so we could not get out - had to use the tractor FEL to move them. It destroyed the grandkids’ play fort, turned the chicken house upside down and moved it several feet.

Somehow all the chickens survived! One ash tree on the west side of the house broke off near the ground and was deposited on the lawn on the east side of the house.
Had a crew of three tree surgeons here today all day, removing tree limbs and cleaning up the damage. All pretty much back to normal now, but we have some funny looking trees.

Thank the Lord, we miraculously have no damage to house or outbuildings (except for the chicken house). Others were not so lucky.
