Great score, OH. There is just something about those old square bolster models with no nail nick. Lots of nostalgia in those and yours is a fine example.

Nice score!
I don't really see why the newer 110s have a nail nick. It's not really necessary to open the blade, and it messes up the lines of the blade.

Awesome gift! When the 110LT came out, I learned the Shield was "coming soon"; and it just so happened, the preorder was about a week before my birthday, and my folks got me one then. Looks a lot better than the standard 110LT. I still may buy one of the $20 base model 110LTs from Walmart as a beater, however.
I just wish I'd bought the Smokejumper too when these were new.

I like the sheath that came with "The Shield" too. Gotta love that blue on black and I'm a huge fan of nylon sheaths with snap closures instead of Velcro that wears out over time.

I have to admit, despite being made in China, I prefer the nylon sheath to the leather one. Easier to maintain/clean, and it can be carried horizontally as well. And the snap is solid.

Got my 1991 Buck 112 back from the Spa today. They did good.
The blade had to be replaced because of a severely worn tang. With 2022 being the 50th Anniversary of the 112, my new blade has the 50th Anniversary stamp. Kinda quirky and really cool at the same time.
Here are some "before and after" pics.

Rick,
I am in awe with how awesome Buck re-dressed that 112 up for you. They got every nick & chip out of those bolsters...unless they replaced them too. If not, I'm totally impressed. As to the new 50th anniversary blade...I really like the looks of that tang marking. I believe Buck did you right as rain.

Thanks guys. I didn't post this picture above because I didn't take a "before" picture at this angle. There were a few pits that they just couldn't get out but ultimately, they did a really good job.

I'm impressed!
I have a pretty much worn out '74-80 I've been meaning on sending off. This year I think, with the 50th stamp, is even more incentive. I'll have them reprofile a 105 to have a bit thinner edge also.

It's a lot of fun. Especially for anyone who hasn't experienced the Spa treatment for themselves. You know it's going to come back looking great because of posts like this but you don't
really know until you open the box. And at $10 for a new blade with the Spa included, it's a heck of a bargain.
Please post some pics when you get them back.

Iceman...That is a WONDERFUL old 313 and is in GREAT condition. You have a keeper there. Very nice find and pick up.
The 313 Muskrat (Production started in 1972 and ended in 1998. "The 313 Muskrat was manufactored by Camillus for Buck and was added to the line in 1972 along with the 311,315 and 317.")
