Paul, that looks like a beast! Any chance of posting a pic of it next to something so we can get the scale of it?

Re: KNIFE FINDS OF THE DAY
This was my biggest score of this past weekend and the estate sale I attended. This knife was lying on a table beside a couple of Swiss Army knives. I'm generally not one to purchase the newer folding knives, but at the price it had on it, I figured, what the heck, I could gift it to someone. Not paying any more attention to the knife, I dropped it in my bag and continued on through the sale. Probably a half dozen times, the thought went through my mind to go and put the knife back, I really didn't need it, but when the time came to pay for my items, there was the knife. So I paid my $4.00 for it and the rest of my things and was on my way home. The 3 knives I bought that day were the first things I researched on the computer. When I found the folder, I had to do a double take, a triple take, then stick myself with a pin to make sure I was reading what I was. I had never heard of Abel products, they do make some fine, high end fishing reels, and they also manufacture some high end knives as well. I only wish there had been a box with it, but believe me, I couldn't be any happier that I didn't put that knife back. It's in mint condition, Blade measures 2 3/4 inches, the handle is 3 7/8 inches, made of high grade aircraft aluminum. The thumb stud makes one handed opening and closing so easy. It's as light as a feather in my hand. I have a little different feeling towards the new folder's, to say the least. It was a very good 3 knife day to say the least.
Dale H. ( I failed to mention that they are proudly made in the U.S.A. also )

Here's a nice little Scout knife I got today. Fairmount Cutlery Co., N.Y. City.
This thing has strong springs and half stops. Plastic covers. Thanks.

Great find Joe!!
To find a Fairmount in that condition is fantastic. they were really well made and have many that had some pretty nice tooling on the backsprings.

Re: KNIFE FINDS OF THE DAY
Thanks guys.
This is a well built knife.
For $23 including shipping I don't think I did the economy any good.

Re: KNIFE FINDS OF THE DAY
Well after being caged up for over a month I finally got out for a good rummage today. If I get lucky the warden will let me out tomorrow too.
Ten left out of three dozen. Nine original wrappers.

Most of these I need to get the tangs cleaned up a bit to read. The Congress is a Victorian era Joseph Rodgers but the main blade has been replaced and someone cleaned it so the stamps are lite.

Needham Hill Street

Joseph Rodgers

George Butler

Hallam Justified Recipe (on secondary blade main blade stamp is partially missing)

J.Morten &Sons fruit knife

J.Allen & Sons NON-XLL

Joseph Rodgers

Nowill ( Found this one on a militaria site a few days ago.)
