Yesterday was very windy - 25-30 mph WSW wind all day. Gusts 50 mph. Then the dust blew in. This morning there is dust on every surface. And still dust in the air but not as bad as yesterday evening. Rare occurrence to have dust like that here. Wind has died down to 5 mph so maybe the dust will settle, but it’s still coming from the west. 60°. High pollen alert, low air quality.

Partly cloudy skies this morning will give way to cloudy skies and rain during the afternoon. High 54F. Winds ENE at 15 to 25 mph. Chance of rain 90%. Rainfall near a quarter of an inch.
It's OK. Could be and has been worse.

We lost electricity last night around 5:30 as my wife was heading to Cumberland. Still not on. Lots of downed trees in the 'hood, but not as bad as London, KY and Wisconsin from what I saw on YouTube.

We're getting all 3 here, David. But at least it's cooler. Our pool water temperature was 88° after work yesterday.

After high temp reaching 100° on Wednesday, we got 1/2 inch of rain Thursday evening. The high yesterday was 93°, then a cool front came through last night. High today supposed to be only 84°!
Can’t believe it’s August.

I hate to rub it in but my electronic weather station says it is 60º right now
but the local weather guessers say it may be down into the teens this weekend. We are supposed to get quite a bit of rain so everyone will have tree damage, frozen pipes and water damage when the thaw takes place. Our homes are not constructed to tolerate this sort of cold temps.
The gun show that was to take place in Taylor, Texas has been cancelled so I am home for the weekend.
Stay warm out there and stay safe.

Ray, I have been seeing how you folks are having some unusual weather conditions for your area. 18 below is as cold as it gets here, rarely in the minus 20s. We put a new furnace and AC unit in back in October, glad we did. House is toasty.
