Fresh from the mailbox. It's quite a bit lighter than a standard Buck 112 due to the aluminum frame. I'm very pleased with it.
Beautiful 112!

My Buck family is very limited for no good reason. I have a couple of 110's both given to me by my father. One is very well used and the other is in nearly new condition. I bought a Buck Nano Bantam back in 2012 for a little inexpensive watch pocket carry option. In 2015 I ordered one of the custom knives Buck was doing for an Eagle Scout. Neighbor friends son made Eagle Scout and I thought it was an appropriate gift. A week or two ago a light bulb went off in my head and I thought I had been ignoring Buck for too long. Made a move to change that and for a test run I grabbed a 503 off fleabay for a very reasonable price. Cleaned it up a little and have it ready for duty. Pretty possible my Buck family is going to grow.....

OK Dudes,
This is kinda special for me and I never thought I'd find one in the UK but below is my Damascus 1989 Buck 110V Stag bone.
Just came in the mail today.
I'm very happy.

First-gen (I think) Bucklite Ranger 442. An entire challenge using the Ranger on another forum made me realize the modern 110 and 112 lightweights were terrible in terms of ergonomics and comfort with extended use.
I have both the LT and Slim Select versions of the 110 and 112, and they're terrible. The fit and finish is lower than a standard 110, and the handles are awful. They feel cheap, and the texture/chequering pattern on the handles is too aggressive. The Slims are way too thin to be comfortable, and the handles have sharp edges. And then there's that annoying bump between the lock bar and blade. Supposedly it's unavoidable, but the even cheaper Bantams have this nub removed--why not the 110 and 112 lightweights?
Whatever plastic (presumably, Delrin) the 422 uses feels solid, and the fit and finish is more like an older 110/112. The Micarta-like texture is grippy, but will not dig into my hand. The finger grooves were part of what drew me to the first and second gen LT versions--and they fit my medium-size hand well. I like this one so well, I'm beginning to wonder if maybe I shouldn't have ordered the second-gen also. I got all the unholy mess of grime out of it, now comes the hard part--getting a good edge on the thing. It's 425M, which means it's definitely more of a challenge than 420HC.

Picked up this buck 178 with a ats-34 blade yesterday for 2 bucks , surprised to find out they are fairly expensive ? It’s been lightly used but still in great condition .
Feels great in the hand .

Dogg, I have ten of them and I'd take another in a heart beat. Don't use 'em but love 'em anyway.

Last Buck Knife I bought for myself was this Four-Dot 112 Ranger I saw in a junk & curio warehouse back in July. It is basically mint except for 40 years of wear from laying around doing nothing. OH
