As we speak, the first cup is brewing in the Keurig. Things to do, places to go and people to see on another hot day in The Great Midwest.

Second cup four thirty A.M. Second week of forced vacation (plant summer shutdown) can't wait to get back on schedule. Staycations suck!

Sipping the first cup now, reading up on AAPK to see what happened after I went to bed last night. Got to drive up to Raleigh to visit an architect today and then meet my boss for a mid-year performance appraisal. If there is any time left when all the work is done and I will stop by a gunshop that stocks a lot of knives.

Old Hunter! Guns and knives all in one place!!! Wow! I'm having heart palpitations just thinking about it. Do you ever run up on any Ithaca model 37's in your area? Those are my all time favorite shotguns, as much as I love pocket knives Ithaca 37's are my first love. I have three old 20's and two 12's. I desperately "need" some 16's to go along with them, but they are scarce around here. Wow, knives and guns. I think I'd just move in.
I was down in your fair state just about a month ago to pick up a puppy. We went to Fuqua Varina, just outside of Raleigh. Are you familiar with that area?
BTW, coffee was good this morning!

I was in Raleigh today, just north of Fuquay - I have one customer in Angier (just south of Fuquay) so I get there about four or five times per year. I do see 16 gauge Model 37 on a fairly regular basis - just saw a couple last week, believe they were at Mace Sports, just past General Electric, on the I-85 service road at Mebane NC (between Durham and Burlington). Give Don Beamon a call and tell him the Colonel sent you - he'll know who you are talking about. One had a vent rib and the other was plain, both probably 85% +/-. There are usually several for sale at Mid-South Guns in Wagram (too small to be on the map!) on US 401, ten miles NE of Laurenburg and 25 miles SW of Fayetteville - Phil Futrell is your man there. Tell him you want to buy one of his Boss, Purdy, or Holland & Holland shotguns - he will get REAL excited! He does have lots of shotguns and rifles in the store - probably about 10,000 +/-. OH

Starting a new job today at a coin dealer. I'll keep my promotional items business going, but in the mean time I've got to generate some money.

Morning fellers. Scott congrats on a new job. Getting one of those these days is somewhat akin to hitting the lottery.
I wish you well with it.
Finally getting a little rain here in Ky. Man it's been bone dry!

Congratulations on the job Scott. I hope it all works out well for you. Guess, from now on, we won't be seeing much of you around here in the day time.
Mornin' Colonel. A good day to you sir.
Phil -- Can you send a little of that rain up this way? We could sure use it. The corn is curling up and the lawn is brown side out (Not that I care about that. Less mowing.).

Well Scott, it's their loss, bro!! Sorry it didn't pan out, but remember this, for every door God closes, he opens up a better one to take it's place.

Keep the faith, buddy!

Scott, sorry to read that things didn't work out for you. I believe that was "Maria" in the Sound of Music who was quoting the Reverend Mother with that line. However, God does say this in the Bible:
New International Version 1984 (NIV1984)
Jeremiah 29:11
For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.
Hang in there buddy, you come across as a "hang tough" man, just keep hanging tough, believing, and looking. Bruce

Sorry to hear the news, Scott. Hang in there, something better will come to you.
I've had my two cups......off and running on this day off. Home projects to get done.
Later today our local volunteer fire dept has their festival. I will be working the dinner line for the umpteenth year. Fried chicken or smoked pork chop dinners. Will have a few cold ones while working with my buddies!

Been having our 1st cup a little later in the mornings the last few days. Before it gets too hot, I've been picking corn and peas to put in the freezer. Seems a little bit easier to get that out of the way, then sit on the front porch with that 1st cup and know you got most of the hot work done. We have an great deal to be thankful for at our house. Btw, good morning fellers. The first cup is a little late today but good nonetheless.

Way to go Scott!
I'm about half way thru my 1st cup. We had a hard rain yesterday and last night. First in a long while. It won't cure our drought but will help a little. We are very thankful for what we got.
