Tom, yes you can glue bone or stag handle pieces to metal. Go to the forum here that deals with knife repair and ask there to find out which glue and a few tips to make sure you get good results.

Roland, I posted these two knives a few days ago when I bought them and now, when I received them. I've posted quite a few Craftsman 9494 knives. Not necessarily in this thread, but they are ALL posted throughout this thread.

I'm specializing in Camillus 72 knives and it's variations/clones. Currently I have 13, Craftsman 9494 pocket knives.
The picture below is of 7 of them.

Man Skip, I love your 72's, Craftsman & other clones collection. Simply put, they are just really cool knives!

Those 1977 Craftsman knives are top notch. The '8OT' one is in particular well done, especially in fit & finish.

Thanks guys here are some shop knives. I found these in the storage room when we were cleaning out Canal Street Cutlery. I thought they were very interesting.

James you have posted so many great perfect highly desirable knives ! Rather mind blowing to this old Craftsman collector, including a mint Craftsman 2OT ! WOW !
Are the fixed blades part of the "American Eagle" series ? Some of these came with heavy duty sheaths made in California. I am a bit confused. Maybe there were 2 Sears "American Eagle" series of Schrade knives ?
Please do tell us about each knife, pattern number Schrade or Sears, and the year of manufacturer for the F.B.'s and folders too.
Wanna sell the 2OT ?
Really you have just posted at least 6 knives any one of which could be a center piece for one of us 'regular' Schrade/Sears collectors.
How long have you owned these knives ?

Hey Joe, I just love schrade craftsman knives. Don’t know a lot of the details. These are outside the American eagle series. I do believe the golden spike (153uh) started as a Sears knife. Looks like they put the etch on a standard knife first and then introduced the new pattern. The timing seems to indicate this. My interest in the sears knives started when I was collecting uncle henry patterns. I’ve shown most of them in thread I started. These are knives I picked up during that period. I PM you on the 2ot. Almost no one does know much about the Sears Craftsman knives made by Schrade and Camillus. Michael Little (Codger) has spent a huge amount of time researching Sears Schrade & Camillus knives and likely is the most knowledgeable person anywhere. I know of no one else who has any in depth knowledge. It is an 'area' ready for 'younger' collectors to make discoveries. Codger was going to put out a book about these knives but i believe this is no longer in the works.

I just snagged this Craftsman out of the bay.
I think this is the only one I have (so far) that has this type of shield. The "craftsman oval underline" (??) ....
The blades look full and I think it will look pretty nice with a good clean up.

SO... is this one that would have been made by Camillus?
I don't see any numbers on the tang anywhere.

I also just purchased this 9556 with the oval "crown" type shield. I like the way the swedge is done on the top edge of the blade.

I just fished this Craftsman out of the bay....
It is an interesting knife. I am kinda wondering who made this one (and when).
. .
This one was listed as a "camper" but uh....no.
Anyway, it does have a punch blade which is cool.
Is this a "cattleman" maybe?

That one looks like an Ulster, or I should say Schrade/Ulster. Early 1970's perhaps?

Good call Eric.... I can see some Ulster similarities.

I posted this knife in another forum and Grant (Shearer) came up with the answer....
My knife is a 4 blade Cattleman and the Craftsman # is 9469.
Grant said it was made about 1948....
AND... he said there is a version of this knife that has a serrated sheeps foot blade..... COOL.

Mike, totally agree with the model number but is he sure on the date? Maybe 1969? Those handles just don't seem right for a 1949 cattle knife. I'm assuming they're plastic or something similar?

Very strong Ulster vibe on that Craftsman. I think Eric's got a point about the age. It's covered in Bonite which doesn't show up until the mid/late 50s. That shield is earlier than the crown shield. Just a guess, I'd say late 50s or early 60s? Nice knife.

That was my thought to Eric.
The covers do show some shrinking.
When you do a google image search for the Craftsman 9469, the covers look just like mine (?).
