Orvet has struck again! Dale passed on some interesting "stuff" in his contribution to the 2024 POS Exchange.006.JPG008.JPG

Identifying the pile of poo from the top down and left to right:
On tiop a Queen #20, 1972, well used with a cracked handle on mark side.
Under it a Queen BO-6 doesn't seem to fit the POS idea.
The large knife is Russell Green River blank that Dale put together, a user for sure!

On the first multiple line, a wooden handled single blade, 1/2 stop that will bite you, marked only DIR.
The 2nd knife is another wood handled single blade advertising knife made I believe by or for Shapleigh Hardware St. Louis, advertising some brand of shoes. Still trying to decipher the faint letters embossed in the wood.
The 3rd is a Hammer Brand shell 2 blade.

2nd row begins with a Ka-bar 2501, decent knife, except for the HONGKONG stamp that automatically secures a POS rating.
Next to the Ka-bar is a fine POS, an Imperial camp/scout shell handled knife missing the bail.
3rd knife on 2nd row is another Hammer Brand, it's a "wanna' be Camillus 72", with Delrin handles. Certainly doesn't fit the POS description, decent knife.

3rd row begins with a military knife, stamped U.S.MARINE CORPS, it is missing the bail, the main blade, a spear can't be accessed until you open the screwdriver/bottle opener. It would be a real POS except is is a USMC knife. Semper Fi. Bro Dale!
A decent small sockman, a Purina advertising knife, is in excellent condition except someone has ground the tang stamp off.
The last knife on the 3rd line is an Imperial metal frame BSA single blade made by Imperial. It has already been presented to the local Scoutmaster!

Bottom row has a Bear & Sons USA metal framed/handle lockback shaped similar to a Case Sodbuster, another knife that doesn't deserve a POS rank.
The center knife on the bottom row has no stamp but is a slanted bolster serpentine jack, another decent knife.
The last on is a new RR (has the Ryder not Rider) on the shield, it is called a Coal Miner #RR1284. similar to a Case 6217.
Thank you, Dale. It was like Christmas opening your box!

Philip, that ain't a bad pile of knives! Anytime you get a 72 look alike it ain't a bad pile. ::nod::

Boji, they aren't all floaters. Some pretty good knives there. But if you include the price of the restorative manicure.........

I got a chance today to go through my POS gift from Steamboat Willie. He sent so many good knives that I almost need to post them under the "Bombs" thread!

First was this awesome Leatherman Supertool 300. That baby just might show up in my toolkit! It is a beefy Leatherman and looks like it was made to do some heavy duty work.

Then a pair of good Barlows. The Ulster needs some slight tinkering, then will definitely be going into my EDC rotation! I have grown to love Barlows.

It took me a minute to find a flaw in this SOG. It has a few missing screws, which I should be able to replace. My first SOG!

I do not know the maker of this lockback. It has "USA FS" etched on the back, with no tang stamp. The mark side handle has been sanded down, but it still appears to be a great belt knife. It may also hit the rotation!

Finally, I found the source of the smell!

Jake, you sent some great knives, and really made my day sir! May God bless you and yours.

Everything else is just a hobby.

Glad you’re having fun, Rev! (Eh, You’ll find that Leatherman could use a factory overhaul. We’re still friends, right? Lol)

The lock back is a Utica, factory second, hence the lack of a tang stamp and the FS etch. Aside from the spring being a bit soft and the covers looking a little wonky it’s a decent rig.

I got my bag of poo over the weekend. Mail tends to run a bit late here, so the excrement had mostly dried out and was ready to use as kindling. One turd I picked up and just felt the weight of it and was like eewww yuk. However, my hubby was super excited about it. Come to find out it was light cause the whole turd is plastic. Made by Blackie Collins. Plastic turd or not it locks in place nice and has serrated edge that could likely do some damage in a shanking type of situation. Also in box was a melon cutter made in China. My "secret POS Santa" must have known about the watermelon seeds I had recently purchased so if the plants live maybe it will see a melon or two this year, but that is doubtful seeing as I don't really grow a garden I just leave plants on their deathbeds all season. The big What in the World is this sh** was the Colonial jack with a clip on and pin handle. I don't take knives apart but have run across a few broken knives and none had handles like this knife. Its vintage and the blades are full, so who cares if the bolsters are hollow and just kind of clip on to an otherwise perfectly useful knife. Also in box was a Col. Littleton canoe knife and an Appalachian trail lock back. All in all happy with my little turds!

It was more of a 'sound off if you didn't get one' question. ;)
