So, usual Remington stamps. I was curious if they might say, HECHO EN U.S.A." or something.

Totally ignorant re' Remington official Scout knives.
How does one ID it as Spanish?
I don't think I've ever seen that shield for starters.

The Spanish scout is listed in the Remington C-5 catalogue with pictures , I did see one 20+ years ago but couldn't purchase it , I've been on the hunt for a long time

Yes the shield and the pattern number on the tang also tells the tail . I'm sure it was etched on the master blade but that's long gone on my example .

Congratulations on the find! I know exactly how you feel.I had a chance to get a Dog's Head KA-BAR locking folding hunter about 30 years ago and waited too long.Finally found one last year and almost lost out on that one too because I didn't want to spend the money.Went back the next day and it was still there.
Paid $250 for it and on the way home stopped to show it to a friend.He offered me a hundred more than I paid for it and then I knew I made the right decision.

Nice honest old Robeson and the bone, lack of a shield and steel liners/bolsters do suggest WWII vintage.

I know some do not like this particular seller and that's up to you. Personally, I've never had a problem with any of his listed knives at which I looked.

Here's a scout knife of sorts, and some scouting memorabilia from my collection. I bought this new at the Philmont Scout Ranch trading post in 1998. It sold as a boxed set commemorating the 60th year anniversary of Philmont. The knife isn't much - it's a Wenger SAK. Along with it is a commemorative patch, a hat pin, and biography of oilman Waite Phillips. Phillips donated his New Mexico ranch to the Boy Scouts for hiking/camping use in 1938 (along with a Tulsa office tower, from which the scouts could use the rental profits to maintain the ranch). The ranch became Philmont Scout Ranch. Forgot about it until today when I found it while looking for another knife.

I bet you've got some good memories of Philmont. I wished I could have gone there when I was in the Boy Scouts but my chances of getting to go there were on par with my chances of getting to go to the moon.

Thanks guys. Philmont is a wonderful place regardless of your age. I never made it as a Boy Scout either but was privileged go three different times as an adult scout leader. When I went in 1998 I was with 10 Eagle Scouts. They were totally capable, didn't really need me with them, but the rules required two adults over 21 accompany them. Every morning when we broke camp, the scouts argued over who was going to carry my tent, sleeping bag, food, etc. When we got to the next camp site, I fished while they set up camp and cooked dinner. Hiked over 80 miles and ate MREs for 10 days, but best vacation I ever had!

This goes along with the kabar I posted, I bought a group that had the hobo in it, Which I was wanting, this scout was there to, Could not read or see tang anyway, was after hobo so this was a nice surprise..

Cato, that is a great example of the AW Wadsworth "Scout Knife". This was one of a handful of promotional knives that were used to encourage Scouts to sell Boys' Life subscriptions back in the earliest days of scouting (1913-1930). These knives were awarded to boys for selling a certain amount of subscriptions. They were not official scout knives but they were advertised as "Premium Knives" in BSA catalogs and were sanctioned at the national level. Others were: Cornwall, Keen Kutter, Camillus & Dunlap.

Here are a few old Scout knives that I have laying around.
