Welcome to AAPK, John!
For those of us old enough to remember them, W. T. Grant 5 & 10 Cent stores sold the Crucible brand of pocketknives.
But, trust me on this, I'm sixty-eight and spent a lot of time in our local Grant's Store when I was a boy, they were not selling that quality of knife in the 50's.
Checking Goins Encyclopedia Of Cutlery Markings and he dates Crucible as 1926 - 1929.
I'll bet somebody here has an idea of who manufactured the knives for Grant.
I'm thinking Boker U.S.A. Any other thoughts?

Great old Scouts! They're all nice, but IMHO you just can't beat the old Remington bone.

I know that this knife isn't an official Scout knife, but I thought I would add it here also. This knife was another gun show find.

There's a lot of old non-official scout knives posted in this thread already (I put a few on here myself 
). Great old Remington - thanks for posting it. Some really great bone was used on these. Been looking for one like it but the last few I've seen have been beyond the depth of my pocketbook.

Maybe someone can tell me if these 1930s Camillus Scouts were official or not. Just got this 4-line in off eBay. It cleaned up rather nicely.

Jerry that Camillus is a nice one, but it is not an official Boy Scout knife. It does not have the Boy Scout emblem on the shield nor did it have the etch on the blade.

That's a dandy, Jerry. These old CAMILLUS scout/utility knives are way under-rated.
