All About Pocket Knives

Outlaw, that is a quality knife right there, I have one too.

I have actually had these for quite awhile....but just found them in one of my junk drawers. I remember when I first got these I was going to post them up and ask what they were & who made them.....that was several years ago.
But now with the knowledge of knives that I have..curtsy of AAPK...I know who manufactured them just by seeing the few letters that are visible.
The whittler is a Maher & Grosh...and the fixed blade is a Field & Co..they both have Ebony handles.
I think..not for sure tho..that the Field is a corn knife....whats really got me puzzled is all the Fields & Co. knives that I have seen are made in Germany....this one is marked New York....maybe NY imported it from Germany.
I'm sure someone will know if it’s really a corn knife.. and about its origin.

Most of the A. Fields I have seen Johnnie, were mostly handmade in Sheffield and shipped over.

Johnnie, I can't speak to the origin of the Field, but I believe it's an ink eraser and not a corn knife. Nice finds, by the way.

Perry...the ones that I have seen are German made..

I just pulled this off the bay.....

This vintage pocket knife measures 3 1/8" closed with two blades. The main blade has a long pull and is marked A.Field & Co. Progress on the tang. Alfred Field was an importer in New York City between 1886-1942. Their knives were high quality made in Germany, England and the U.S. Both blades have darkening from age, wear from use, but snap sharply with no Wobble. The handle is wood grain composition in good condition having no cracks or chips. The liners and pins are brass, the bolsters and shield are silver nickel. Most likely that ink eraser was made by Miller Bro`s

Schrade made quite a few knives for Alfred Field.

pulled in some nice ones today. sunday always rules!!!

-hibbard spencer bartlett wood scale jack
-ovb hibbard spencer bartlett wood scale pruning knife
-ulster knife co. bone handle

a little cleaning and some of these will be real beauties!

Lucky devil. I was trapped in all day with the small evil monkey. I did get some good ones yesterday though. Pictures may take till tomorrow.

I recently picked up this Ulster 63. Oops! Pictures still not working. Oh well. Later. I'm too lazy to FTP 'em up to my web site right now.

Yes, Mike. The Ulster 63 and the Remington 863 are both clones of the Camillus 72 that I (currently ) love so much. I also have an Imperial, Powr-Kraft 84-11, Craftsman and Made In USA in the Carpenters Whittler pattern. The total is up to about 18 now. Dale just sent a picture of one yesterday with a tang stamp we can't identify.

Anyone have a handle on this 36810 USA? Western maybe?

Most of those are nice, but the last two in the upper post and the last one in the lower post are really fine!

Here are a couple new ones. The hawk is a Sword Brand. The Hobo is a Colonial. It is small but functional and will be a good one to have in the truck for when I forget my cutlery and it is time to eat.
