My sister and BIL retired and sold their farm near here (for a lot of money), bought a place in Colorado and moved there. One winter there was all they could handle. They kept the place in Colorado but now they only live there April through October, and spend the winter on the Texas Gulf Coast (aka the “Redneck Riviera”).
We were visiting them in Colorado last July. BIL and I were sitting on their front porch enjoying our early morning coffee. The porch thermometer read 40° F. I commented about it, and BIL said disgustedly “yes, and I remember when it read minus 40° too!”

Was showing my newest license plate to my daughter. Her first comment was, "Is it a "fake"? They spelled USA backwards."
My wife & I had a good laugh.
