On another thread 313 Mike mentioned how hard it is to capture the modern Case red bone color (brighter than the original). I was playing around a few months ago trying different locations and lighting to try to get a shot that made the red color look to me in a picture the way it does to my eye - this was my best attempt, almost, but not quite. OH

Nice pic, Old Hunter..
Here's a pic I posted on another thread, showing a pile of E.C. Simmons Keen Kutters. The one in the middle is a single blade jack I picked up recently.

It is a very good looking knife (and terrific picture). It's unfortunate the knife's mother was a prostitute and it's father a sailor on liberty in the land which shall not be named.

This picture turned out nice.

A piece of Cedar log makes a great backdrop.

I split piece of cedar is a great backdrop.

Here is something that didn't work very well. Too much blue.

Tree branch works

Excellent shots, Reid. That tree branch one made me look several times, it has some real depth to it.

Thanks guys. I have found outside with natural sunlight to be the best. Wood backgrounds seem to work the best. Blue and red backgrounds don't work. I see lots of deck picktures on here. Those are nice. I never have tried a light box. LC has really good photos.
Thanks again Reid

Ooooooooooooooooooooooh heck no, Phil! If you have flames, you can cook food, then the utensils can be used to eat the food around the campfire
