I sure wish I lived in the "Deep South" like you, Oscar, but nooooo, I have to live where it's against the law to blow your nose by yourself behind closed doors, never mind possess a 1-handed knife! Communist Canada, jeeeeez! ::facepalm::

IMHO, the completely off topic 'banter' has seriously gotten out of hand recently, across multiple threads and topics.
::shrug::
Quick answer - art or ego???

Art is subjective, so.....

Studies have shown that children who aren't exposed to art at a very young age lack an understanding of it in their adult years. ::shrug::

I grew up dirt poor, but I never had a lack of an education, even growing up in the south. What's your excuse?

I most importantly never suffered from a lack of appreciation of beauty.

::: DROPS MIC ::: (I totally made up the stuff about the studies - the rest is true though)

I am going with my sh*t is art. If you don't agree you can take your EDC and shove it where the Sun don't shine.
I'd like to add that YOUR off topic banter about the weather and a pot brewing in the morning is disconcerting. HIGHLY distracting when all I want to see is Knives, Knives & MORE Knives. Stop being a friggin jerk.
Some of what you're posting in these last 2 posts, Kim, is bordering on abuse, specifically the part about where it's dark, and in your opinion, what kind of person the recipient is being.
You can make your point without getting nasty, so please, pull-in the reins some. ::handshake::
And, I'd have posted this regardless of what thread we were in.

What exactly is your problem with that post ::shrug::

I've already had a conversation with Chris privately that he initiated and we're all good - I think.

I don't think that you are consciously trying to "police" threads, but you sort of are.

Accusing me of being an elder abuser is a bit much, don't cha think? Maybe you should ask Chris? I just gave him his "special apple sauce", so you might have to wait until tomorrow.
This has nothing to do with Chris whoever that is.
Where I come from, "stick it where the Sun don't shine" and "stop being a friggin' jerk" are rude and unacceptable in any context, but particularly on an open forum for all to read. Perhaps you were taught differently, but that's still not an excuse to embarrass or ridicule another person publicly.
As for "accusing you of being an "elder abuser" " I have no idea what that means. What I said was your comments are bordering on abuse, how you connect that with "being an elder abuser" I haven't got a clue.
And I'm certainly not trying to "police" this or any other thread or wherever I happen to be, online or off I would say what I said to anyone at any time who is not acting like a lady or gentleman, it's called having good manners.
Regarding "not taking sides" not going on, I'm fully aware this isn't the Civil War, but when one person agrees with another while disagreeing with yet another, that's called taking sides.
Look, I've enjoyed the Dog's humor since he began posting it and will continue to do so, what we're really talking about is WHERE to post such humor. As it's been stated the OCCASIONAL off the rails banter is fun and necessary, but ONLY acceptable very occasionally in a thread that's been dedicated to the knives, there are multiple other threads that are dedicated to nothing but banter that should be utilized for regularly posting such topics.
AAPK has certain rules that we all agreed to follow when we joined, one of which is to show respect to each other at all times, and although I'm unaware of any rule pertaining to not hi-jacking others topics, if this continues I'm certain one will eventually be instituted, I'm just trying to follow the rules in the meantime.
This has gotten out of hand and I'm bored with the whole thing, you conduct yourself in any manner you see fit and I'll do the same, objections rude comments hi-jackings and all.
You asked me to show you the ropes when you landed here, these are the ropes.

Thank you, Oscar. It is a Miller Bros. It is definitely a comfort knife, feels great in the pocket and in the hand, but I don't use it for "dirty work".

I always prefer traditional slip joint knives over the hideous so called tactical monstrosities.
That’s a really classic knife.

Part of "comfort" I suppose is to be comforting to the owner and part of that is a comfortable feeling in the hand... so these babies from Cold Steel fit that bill. Good usable knives and not too expensive for the quality you get. My buddy MTC, lived in Alaska, Arizona, Wyoming, and Montana and loved the older Carbon V models for outdoor carry. A strong thick blade makes this model a real work horse. I was handling these ones last night and the grip feels great. :) ::hmm:: ... these knives feel so good ... I think my blood presser goes done holding them ... what a real comfort knife should be. ::nod::

They are very well made. One of their marketing techniques was the well-known and entertaining "Cold Steel Proof" video series (there is even a; Cold Steel APOCALYPSE PROOF). They put these knives through a series of torture test, much like "Forged in Fire" does today.

You're being defensive cuz you feel me and/or others are picking on you, and that's really not the case.
I was simply trying to point out certain etiquette for our forum and you've taken it all wrong thinking you were being singled out.
Anything I post is directed at everyone, not an individual.
Whaddya say we put all this BS behind us, kiss and make-up, and carry-on with the business of our knives? ::nod:: ::handshake::
