Nice old pattern with some beautiful represntative examples from various old and some rare makers.

That Robeson 629285 above is a very nice knife, K7K.

Here are some other examples from Robeson. Two of them, the 284 and 285 pattern jacks, are the same frame as K7K's NO-RUSTAIN knife above.

I'm not really sure these truly meet the standard for "Balloon-Ended", but they are swell-centered with round bolsters.

Both ends look like the same size from where I sit......

Actually it is a bit of an illusion.The knife is an equal end and what is causing the illusion is the shadow.When I photographed it,the knife was actually upside down and I was using an LED clip light to illuminate it.I could not get directly above it without a shadow from the camera going across the knife so I shot it on a slight angle and then rotated the image 180 degrees.The angle caused the shadow which made it look like one end was bigger.Sorry for the confusion.

Here's a few more.I have a couple of what I would term two blade melon testers;one by Gerson and the other by Schrade that are a sort of half swell center and if no one minds I will include them here.

First is a small one by Henry Wilton of Germany with fancy scales.
Second is an inexpensive one marked,"Stainless Steel Japan"
Third is one marked Suffolk Knife Co Germany.
Fourth is one marked Ulster Knife Co with ebony scales.
Fifth is another Ulster with ebony but in a larger pattern.
Sixth is one marked,"United Cutlery Germany";not the United that imported Boker but a much earlier company.
Seventh is one marked,"Wahkonta Cutlery Germany".Have no clue on this one.
Eightth is the Gerson.I have several knives marked Gerson Boston Mass but this is marked Middleboro Mass which is an outlying suburb of Boston.Only one I have ever seen with this marking.
Ninth is the Schrade.

4 3/8 inches closed. # 32919 with a partial etch of a banner with OUR VERY BEST on it. you still working on that book with all the different punch blades? still got that fake JACK KNIFE BEN punch jack?

I'm retiring slowly, and the books are the next thing on my agenda!!

thanks, i could have it cleaned but i oil the joints and enjoy it just the way i found it.
