I like that Buffalo Horn Bowie Ken! That is the large one. right? Can you tell me the oal and the Blade legnth? I do not have any of those yet.

I still like the folders and Canal Street does produce some outstanding beauties, but there is something about the strait knives , drop points especially that seem to draw me in that direction!

NO YELLOW that I have seen yet by Canal Street. But D'Holder has some super YELLOWS ones that I want some day.

Ken, It was an SFO for Red Hill Cutlery that I believe came out around 2006 (I'll have to look that up). I'm not quite ready to part with this 'ol bird yet, but perhaps Red Hill still has a few in stock? The story went that it was some old bone left over from Schrade that they intended to make 25 knives out of, but the quality of what was left only allowed for something like 15. makes sense since Schrade did come out with some blue rope jigged knives for their 100th anniversary just before they closed:

Looks like you've rolled out the good stuff. Impressive collection of Canal Streets. Those d'Holder fixed blades really get my motor running.

The one I do not have yet ... Is that Maroon handled one.

How is the color in it? All smooth and lovely just like the Schrade Maroon ? or is it even better and how was it died? I am thinking Schrade used Delrin.

Ken, the color's nice. The dye seems to have gone only just beaneath the surface, where the handle is hafted it goes back to black, nice contrast. I'll see if I can get a good shot of it tomorrow or when the weather permits (It's supposed to pour, looks like Spring is here )

PS- is this the maroon you're talking about? It was known as maroon swirl, a type of plastic, and a for-runner to delrin. Much of this material had a tendency to shrink quite a bit, notice the bolster gaps.

No I was talking about Schrade PH1 Pro Hunter Maroon Loveless 8" 3 1/2 " 1980. Sorry not a good photo.

Your's looks almost like a Celluloid handle to me.

Some nice knives you fellers have there I can't believe I overlooked this thread. What do they say about eyesight being one the first things to go?

I have about 20 Canal Streets so far. Here are 3 that I really like.
First is a smooth brown bone Whittler - #1 of 11
Next is a green jigged bone Whittler - #6 of 8
And last a Trapper with African Bloodwood - #10 of 25

I'll post more when I get time to take some pics.....
