All About Pocket Knives

I can`t believe it has been 2 years and no one has posted any Puma knives to this thread

Not a popular brand I guess. Here is a nice stag handle Medici I picked up.

I've shown these before but not in this thread. Mostly because the set was not complete when this thread was started. It's the complete six knife set of Puma Big Five Stockmans. It took several years to put this together.

Thanks Dimitri. I think the late '90s. I had a chart that listed dates of manufacture for various Puma patterns & SFOs but can't find it. I found something where I had said they were SMKW SFOs.

That is interesting, you don`t see a lot of knives from Puma with jigged bone handles.

I knew I should have been saving all those old SMKW catalogs they sent me

huntec from the middle's of 90 and a fishing knive (this is from the 80's)

Stan, those fish knockers are really cool but good Lord are they expensive to buy. Especially in that condition.

Well then, can I share your brother with you. I don't have one anymore and yours sounds like a really nice one.

Here's a pair of Puma fish knives and one made by Lunawerk in Italy.The ball in addition to being a fish knocker,also has a steel tape measure within it.Guess that's to keep the fishing honest.

I recently found this 675...the serial numbers = 1972. I bought this off of an oder gentleman who purchased it 40 years ago and used it to whittle when he was younger. It lived in a sheath a friend made for him, and sat in a drawer for many years. When he told me he had a German knife if I was interested, and he slid it out of the sheath, it didn't take long before it was in my pocket.

Here's a couple pretty tight little LB's. The stag is only about 10 years old.The Puma 265 Aka Sargent has been with me since 1979. It is as versitile as a Buck 112. I remember when I was about 25 years old (35 years ago) I would try to flick the blades of the 112 out with one hand but it was pretty hard to do even with a good soaking of 3 in 1 oil and a couple hundred snaps just to try and loosen them up. The Puma Sargent flicked open real quick right out of the box and it held a great edge that was easy to keep sharp just like the Bucks plus it fit in the Buck 112 leather sheath like it was made for it. The Pumas were always a few dollars more than the Bucks.
