I just want to say how good it is to have LT posting again on AAPK.

I could sit and read his and Dimitri's and David Anthony's posts all day.

There is such a wealth of knowledge here and I cannot name you all, but you know who you are.

You all are what makes AAPK great.

Information, history, knives and opinion, freely shared with little to no bickering, no insults, no degrading comments.

I love this topic and it just helps to educate us all. Sometimes I think we all collect old things because they remind us of things gone by when life was good, everyone had good family values, and the only thing you had to complain about was the weather. Not to seem like an old cynic here but so many things have changed in this world, and the media capitalizes on it and just encourages it. I am going to be 56 on Tues and I have always thought I grew up in the wrong era, but in reality every era has had there issues but today it's different and I'm kind of glad I'm winding my way down. Don't get me wrong there are so many great things that we have today that our parents didn't have as I sit here and type and our friends on the other side of the globe are able to read it, but it seem like everything today is disposable with no value and no one collects anything for posterity. Its nice to have a site like this that we can all have a common interest in, long live AAPK!!

I agree with Charlie. I appreciate this forum and think we are blessed to have such valuable insights given so freely. As Charlie said thanks LT and Dimitri,and Charlie and all who share their wisdom so freely. Money is not the reason for their passion.

Born in May of 1934 I remember looking at the Sears & Roebuck catalogs at a early age when they had lumber jack boots with a pocket knife in a pouch on the side of the boot. How much neater than that. I have a bunch of 1915-16 Hunter Trader magazines selling a Remington Hunter Trader folding hunter for $ 2.00. What do the young generation have that will compare? Knife history has been a fun past time for over 40 years and I am trying to get a couple of my grand kids to take over some day. They like handling my Cattaragus and Jack Knife Ben collection.
