Be sure to clean that skull up and post a pic. We always saved the pecker bone too...Boar or sow?

Vey cool, Trev, you are a lucky man to live in such a beautiful place. Although, New England ain't half bad either. I suppose we are all blessed to be living in such a beautiful country.

The United States has, in my opinion, the most beautiful landscape in the world. Changes every time you cross a time zone. Wouldn't live anyplace else.

jmh58 - When you get to Alaska, definitley shoot some stuff, and ALL of our fishing is BIG, so
you will not be disappointed with that!!

Wow you guys!! Thanks for the GREAT response to this thread. Its easy to take the place we live
for granted. I took 111 photos on that hike and a few dozen came out decent, was raining and overcast
and just had the point-and-shoot, no tri-pod. There were many other subjects I would have liked to try
and get pics of, but was also trying to make decent time on the 7.0mi R/T. I am going to post a few
more photos of that hike, since the others seem well recieved. Got on the website and looks like I can
get the cabin for 2 nights on the 11th of Oct, may have to make that happen. Alaskas second largest
salmon speceies (Coho, avg 12-14lb) make it to that lake. They were at the peak of the run a couple
weeks ago, but its nice you can catch them right at the cabin. One of the pics in this update shows
the stairs that drop off the ridge to the cabin. Most of our trails here have boardwalk, stairs, bridges
and gravel brought in to alot of them. There are plenty of rustic trails, but on the better ones you
barely need boots!!

And at the risk of being seen as a pervert, I would like to see a photo of the pecker. I grew up hunting coons and always considered that bears were close kin to the coon. Since we always cut out the pecker on the boar coons, does the bear member look similar??

Nice bear if it weighs 280 thats not a small black bear. Would love to make to Alaska someday.
