if a chinese factory is given enough profit & a strong guide in quality control they can produce a knife as well as most american products & in many instances superior.the chinese have low labor costs & as far as expertise let us not forget their technical ability is not shaded by any culture. they were 1st to invent procelin, process to make silk, & black powder. i'm not wishing to start any battles but as far as cutlery dominance they have already won the battle.i do'nt own any chinese traditional knives nor do i have an interest in traditional chinese products. i'm new to this group & in general only collect great eastern which i believe to be one of the few remaining american classics. however most better products by china beat american cutlery of same dollar price by a wide margin.--HiPower

Let's just give it all to China, we don't need the jobs and revenue from products made in America. After all, we're the richest nation on earth, right? I'd be proud to be the first in line to buy one of the new globally produced Case or Queen knives. Besides, China is only looking out for our best interests, why should we stand in their way?

The OP is just upset because he found out I had a one of a kind Golden MOP Rough Rider Trapper that he really wanted to add to his Chinese made knife collection. It's very extensive.
When I refused to trade him for his Pakistani faux oyster pearl lockback whatever, he became very irate and threatened to expose to all knife forums, my cross dressing experiment. I told him to go ahead, I only did it 3 times.....
Then when I mentioned the pictures I have of him with his other hobby involving farm animals....he really lost it......and he's taking it all out on China.....that's just the kind of guy he is.
Just an FYI

I do not buy many knives, only when I see something I like or think will be useful. The last knife I bought was a Gerber multitool with a built in AAA flashlight. I was looking for one for a while, and it fit my needs. It is made in China, not super quality, but far from junk. I also bought it from an American business that employs Americans, not Chinese. Regardless of where the item is made, you are helping the US economy when you spend your dollars. We shop at World market all the time, and the products there are made all over the world, but you are supporting World Market in the US when you shop there. Walmart gets a bad rap for selling Chinese products, but they sell pretty much the same stuff Target sells, and everything at target is not made in the US. Most of it is made overseas, just like Walmart. Many people on this forum and others have mentioned boycotting Walmart. Walmart and target are both US companies that employ Americans. If they went out of business, Americans would lose their jobs, not the Chinese. I have a lot of US made knives and multitools. I would have loved a Leatherman tool with a light built in, but they do not make one. So again, I buy what I want and what will suit my needs. Do not know why the OP is "worried" about the quality of Chinese knives. If you do not like them, do not buy them. Why go out of your way on this forum just to start a tired thread of China bashing, which is what most of these threads turn into. All you are doing at the end of the day is trolling. Maybe this forum needs a sub-sub forum just for China bashing!!!

knifemaker3 wrote:These guys are just looking for a fight. ::td:: We now have a chinese factory knife forum on here after many people started posting about china made knives and Bryan saw it necessary to add a place on the forum dedicated for them. People have posted about how they felt the quality was as good as or better than Case. These guys are simply trying to pick a fight with those who disagree with them and their ideals.

Another interesting thing you will notice on this forum is that many people will bash the china knives and say to only buy american but will then turn around and either show off or say how great of quality german made knives are. ::facepalm:: Guess they really don't believe in only buying american...... ::mdm::

This is still the best forum on the internet for knife collectors of all kinds. It has even grown to accept that there are people who like to collect the cheap knive made from china. I think that says a lot about democracy and the american way. As Americans we believe in the freedom of speech....yet bash those who stand against what we say. ::dang::

As has already been mentioned.....we all have an opinion.

Now everyone grow up and start acting like adults instead of little kids fighting in the playground.

P.S...my knife is bigger than your knife! ::tounge::

I agree with everything you just typed!!! Great post!!!!! ::ds::
