Thanks for the compliment! For you to say it would be a "favorite" says alot!

I can't see a reason for the extra pin other than maybe stability? The knife really looks to be unfooled with. Here is one view from the side with the nail file. I can't get a good scan of the other side because of the curve in the knife.

I will ask Bret what he thinks when he gets home.

I think it is for the additional spring for the other blade.It probably only goes halfway through the knife because if it went all the way through.the master blade couldn't close. JMO.

Verrrry nice indeed! The one with the tweezers in the pearl is amazing. The skill & the patience that the craftsman must have had to be able to drill out the pearl to fit them without cracking the astonishes me...

Here are 2 more I just picked up. The tortoise is Kipsi Kut, I have been trying to get this knife for over a year now and came home from the NCCA show with it.

The other is Occident Cutlery, check out the pearl on it!!! Seattle Hardware trademark.

You come up with some of the most perfect stuff. I wish I had that kind of restraint. I should get my lobsters out and add them but I keep forgetting.

Thanks kg888, I could buff it a little but usually I just keep my knives oiled up and enjoy them.

I picked up this bone Winchester at the Ohio Gun Collector's show. It seems hard to find a old Winchester that isn't all used up...

What an excellent find. Beautiful bone handles, tip bolsters. Very nice.

Yep! It's 19 months since I fired up a cigarette. The terrible thing is... I still miss it, everyday. I just posted in off topic section. It will kind of explain what we have been up to lately.

I've been off 'em for 17+ years and still occasionally miss them. Not enough to pick up a pack but the desire never seems to totally go away. The daily want will fade. From here on, it gets easier all the time so continue to hang tough. It's worth it.

a old Schrade Cut Co. I'd picked up this last fall at the Lehigh Valley show along with the matching catalog cut...



...and a Napanoch Knife Co. I acquired right at the end of the year...



...now to find an Orange Blossom... preferably an NY Knife Co....
