Foot of snow where I live but power only off for a day. I consider myself fortunate. 30 miles from here people have almost three feet of snow and no power yet.

Three feet of snow in October? That's just crazy. They weren't just being melodramatic when they predicted Sandy would be a mega-storm.

I talked to AAPK member Chase this afternoon. He's still without power and has 30 some inches of snow on the ground. They do have a generator so they're able to have some heat and keep the refrigerator running. He said he was doing fine and that so far it was like "camping out" at home.

Prayers to all affected. If you are able, donate a little $ to a charity doing work in the affected area!

hi everyone and thanks for your concerns, esp dale ::tu:: .
my power was just restored this morning after being out for since mon nite. too many trees for the utilities to mess with, even tho they subbed a lot of the work out. that comes from living in the sticks. good thing for my woodburner so we were lucky to do our coffees on it. and our grill on the back deck kept our bellies full of the food we had to cook that was going to be lost from loss of power to the refrig., i had a pretty powerful generator when i used to build houses from scratch, but i gave that away last year. oh well.
i guess i am exteremly lucky though, considering how some people that got the full blunt of that storm lost a lot if not everything they had. nature can be beautiful even when it is nasty. its the consequences we have to overcome.
thanks again, and i hope all is well with everyone else.
