Juast some a thoughts.

If you can think of something to talk about that is not related to knives, discuss it here.

Ok so where was bacon signing in from.

Unless Otto is smart enough to use some IP spoofing software, it should be easy to find out.

Go here to see what your computer says about you.
https://www.grc.com/x/ne.dll?bh0bkyd2

Your Internet connection's IP address is uniquely associated with the following "machine name":

pool-173-62.xx.xxx.yyyyny.fios.verizon.net <------That is what the webmaster here sees me as. For security I changed numbers with x and my city with y

The string of text above is known as your Internet connection's "reverse DNS." The end of the string is probably a domain name related to your ISP. This will be common to all customers of this ISP. But the beginning of the string uniquely identifies your Internet connection. The question is: Is the beginning of the string an "account ID" that is uniquely and permanently tied to you, or is it merely related to your current public IP address and thus subject to change?

The concern is that any web site can easily retrieve this unique "machine name" (just as we have) whenever you visit. It may be used to uniquely identify you on the Internet. In that way it's like a "supercookie" over which you have no control. You can not disable, delete, or change it. Due to the rapid erosion of online privacy, and the diminishing respect for the sanctity of the user, we wanted to make you aware of this possibility. Note also that reverse DNS may disclose your geographic location.

All individual users have a dynamic IP address (assigned at random by their Internet Service Provider - ISP). (It's a pain in the butt to get a static IP address) Even if he's smart enough to use the 'release' command to get a new lease (new Internet Protocol address -IP), the first two quadrants of his IP address are going to remain the same because they are assigned to his ISP.

The IP address for All About Pocket Knives that I'm currently connected to is 184.168.67.95

Usually only the last octet will change (.95)

Think about that for a minute Phil. If Lesbians like women and the O-man likes women, doesn't that make him a lesbian?

to whomever the person is that was a member as "bacon lover",

I find it hard to believe that the conclusions being drawn here are not true. I also believe that you may still be able to read the posts going up on this forumn. I hope that you can. During a recent episode related to a topic of discussion on this forumn that became perticullarly opinionated, I found myself taken back by what seemed to be a lot of unneccesary mud slinging, so I decided to keep my head down and reserve my opinions so as to avoid having to defend my point of view. You, as 'bacon lover', had no reservations about what you chose to say, spoke your mind freely, and vigerously defended your statements. I was very impressed by that and wrote you a heartfelt pm to tell you how much I admired your conviction, and that I felt embarrassed that I didn't have the guts to speak my mind. I also thanked you for providing a different perspective in a discussion that often times can feel very closed minded.
Perhaps I wrote you because I felt like you deserved some support, and I wanted you to know that some one listend to you. Maybe I felt inspired by your attitude and just wanted to show my appreciation. Maybe I just wanted to reach out to another member and make a new friend. I can't really say what I was feeling at the time, but I can tell you what I am feeling now.

I feel like an ass.

Don't feel that way Mike. In this cyber world it happens all the time. He/she had 99% of us duped. I've always kind of accepted what some one says as the truth (give them the benefit of the doubt) unless I know, I find out or prove to myself that they are incorrect, that's just the way I am. Be glad in knowing that you have a kind heart and an open mind. ::handshake::

8) Just to explain to the Members who don't know what's going on, Here it is;

Otto use to come on here as Oman and always Kick Up a lot of Dust, He just Loved to stir up the Pot! Just like another unnamed member here. ::shrug:: Then he Ripped Off a Bunch of AAPK Members on Bogus Knife Deals and stopped Posting, because his name was Mud. I guess he couldn’t stand to be away so he came back under the disguise of a 40 year old Lezbo aka Bacon Lover. (pretty Sick) He must have thought it was Real Funny to Clown all of Us like that but to me it just shows the Guy really has a Sad and miserable Life. I’m sure he will eventually be back again under another name because he thinks he’s Smarter than the rest of Us! ::td::

Here is a copy of my final transmission to Bacon Lover.
Hope you had an enjoyable Thanksgiving.

I'd like to comment on a comment if I may: about being afraid to post dissenting opinions. I believe I can claim with accuracy that I have arrived at a point in life when expressing an opinion, even to the unreceptive, is not at all a matter of concern to me. Fear, worry, nerves? Not a bit of it. I am fearless, I have nerves of steel. Navy Seals and Army Green Berets seek my counsel.

Seriously, and I apply this only to myself, I have learned the futility of political discourse with those harboring substantially different views than my own. It invariably results in ill feeling which I have no wish to stir up or participate in. If someone wants my opinion they will ask and I will answer. But even then, discussion carried on electronically I find to be too constraining.
