Sorry I have not posted pics yet guys. Have had a rough couple of days. I bring Johnnie home from the crematorium tomorrow afternoon. I will be glad to have him home with me. I promise before the week is up I will post the pics and tell you about the day.

Everything has caught up with me and I am having a hard time getting out of bed. I make sure to get up and take care of the animals, but have spent the last two days laying in bed. I know it's not healthy but I am just not ready to face the world yet. It doesn't help that Johnnie's dad is pressuring me to sell Johnnies knives. He started just 3 days after Johnnie passed. The deal is that there are knives that Johnnie is having me ship to friends and family, knives that I am keeping to hold on to for the grandson, Knives his dad wanted and the rest I am to sell and split 50/50 with his dad. Well, his dad told me that the knives he told Johnnie that he wanted he wasn't going to keep he was going to sell them!!!! And he just will not shut up about selling the knives. No one is in danger of being homeless or going hungry so I do not know what his problem is. I can not even bring myself to turn on Johnnies computer to get to his knife inventory to mail knives and he wants them gone right now. It's like Johnnie doesn't even matter just what his dad can get out of his death. I always knew his dad was greedy and a beat and cheat but this is crazy.

AND....Johnnie stated in his will that I was the one to sell the knives. That I had guys who would help me (you guys) and that I would take care of it. And I will when I am ready. It took Johnnie years to collect these knives and he can not expect me to get rid of almost 500 knives over night just so he could have money. So, I stay locked int he house in bed so I do not have to deal with it.

I am very sorry to air my problems here, but I have no one else that I can tell and will understand about Johnnie and his knives and how much they mean to him, and now how much they mean to me.

Well, if I may, Lisa.
I wish I had the wisdom to help you in your difficult ways.
I will say that I think you need to take care of yourself and take the time YOU need to grieve and heal so you can face these difficulties. I feel badly for you. Dealing with family members with other agendas can be hell. I know.
Please don't apologise for expressing your frustration here. Sometimes this is "frustration central".
Stay strong .......... we're still praying for you you know.

You can always come here to vent. There is always someone here that will listen, with no agendas.

I would tell Johnnie's dad that you are still too upset to deal with the knives right now. (which is true) Maybe when you are ready, he can help you sell the knives Johnnie left for him. I know that sounds kinda cold, but you can't change what's in his heart, if that's the way he feels, there may not be much you can do about it. Maybe in the end, it will help you to understand him better, and who knows, maybe he will see that he might want to hang onto a few of them. Either way, you can do it on your own terms.

Don't be pressured to do anything or make any decisions you are not ready to make yet. You will be ready to deal with everything when you feel up to it. All the pain and emotions are still too fresh, and you will need some time to process everything.

Do remember to take care of yourself. Try to eat a little something, maybe take a nice warm bath or something. It's very easy for those types of things to slip, and hard to get out of that funk.

You have people here that care about your well being, and we will help you any way that we can.

Glenn

Joe & Glenn both make very good points!
There is not much I think I need to add except to emphasize it is very important for you that you give yourself permission to grieve!
A wound cannot heal is you (or someone) else keeps poking at it!
Loosing a mate is like having half your heart ripped out.
It must scar over and heal, but the grieving process is necessary for you to heal.

8) If one of my children or grandchildren, God forbid ever passed away, the last thing on earth I would think about was how to liquidate their personal items! ::td:: Very Sad! ::disgust:: I have seen this happen many times in my life, where family members become Greedy about these things after a loved one passes and I have never understood it. ::shrug:: Hang Tough Lisa, you have a lot of Guys here in Your Corner!

Lisa, all of us here are willing to help you. Don't be pressured into selling or giving YOUR knives away. They are yours now and no one else. Johnnie knew that we wouldn't let him or you down. That's how things are on AAPK.

Lisa___Take it one step at a time___ give yourself, some time to grieve and heal__ don't let your father-in-law,anywhere near your personal possesions (knives or anything else)__change the locks on your home,if he has a key ???__this kind of person,is only after ""something for nothing"" and has no feelings or heart, toward you or his passed son__only the $$$$$$$$$ he can get, as a result of his passing____ I urge you to take things slow ----(maybe take a trip to one of yours and Johnnies, favorite places, where you have some fond memories of days gone by, and think things out____take the time to make you a few plans,as to what you want to do,and what Johnnie, wanted you to do____only you, will know what this is and when the time is right ___(don't let your father-in-law,make this decision for you****________prayers are with you, in these difficult times ::pray:: ::pray:: _____and like the others have said___we are here to help,if we can_____but ""TIME"" and ""THE GOOD LORD"" are the only healing ways,I know___ God Bless & good luck,Monk ::tu::

Hey guys :D Sorry I have not posted pics or anything yet. The last two days have been non stop. I have a neighbor who was diagnosed with brain cancer two weeks ago and family that was suppose to transport him to his radiation backed out of taking him. So, I am now his ride Monday through Friday for the next 5 weeks. This morning I thought Johnnie's dad was having a stroke and had to call 911. All of his vitals were good and he passed all the stroke assessment tests so they left, but he was still having shooting pain in his jaw. I took him to urgent care and they found a very sore, tender spot on his gum with some light swelling. They gave him antibiotic and pain pills which I went and picked up for him and then had to take the neighbor.

I am wore out. This weekend I plan on finally cleaning and getting the house back in order and nothing else.

I want to thank all of you for your out pouring of love and concern and all of the help you are giving me. It means the world to me <3

Hang in there Lisa, Thanks for the update. We are all with you in spirit and in prayer. As others have said, you have friends here and a support group like no other. I think for me and possibly for others
the contact we have with you and the progress reports you are providing helps with all our grief and loss. It feels comforting to hear from you. May God continue to lift you and surround you in His love, Rocky ::tu::

Just take one day at a time. Let the day come to you, and deal only with what you can deal with.

You don't have to apologize to us. We totally sympathize with what you are going through.

We are all here if you need us to listen.

Do take care.

Well, I spent the weekend doing exactly what I had planned on doing......nothing with a little house cleaning thrown in. I should have done a little more house work LOL It was a partly sad weekend, but I have been running so much I think so I don't have to deal with anything. My dad was over yesterday and suggested I talk to someone, but I am comfortable here in the house right now. I am not ready to talk about it with a stranger. How is a stranger suppose to understand. No, I wil stay in the house and talk to you guys who know Johnnie and understand what I am going through.
