I think you are looking at the famous Pflueger Trumph. A great little reel in it's day. Even today.

..I thought it looked familiar!!!.......it's almost identical to the akron and summit, a lot of the internal parts are interchangeable,the akron had fancy engraving on the covers, and the summit was even fancier!!!....beautiful collection you got there!!!....I love the old stuff!!!!....... ..............

And does any body like Heddon, South Bend, or Langley?

You might be in a better place. With few exceptions, I never fished with these.

....I get some really weird looks from other fishermen when i'm out fishing with my pflueger's- they're probably thinking-"look at that old codger with that old reel".............. ............

Ok, here are the pics I promised.
As you can see the arm that attaches to the pole is broken, but it appears that it can be replaced.

So, do you have any references to this reel?
What is its age?

I think dad had a bunch of old reels stored in the barn and they got pretty dirty.
I think some of them probably function as well as they ever did, though they are a far cry from my Shimanos!

..............dale,i've never seen one of these before, it's got to be pretty rare!!.........looks like the mounting arm is a separate piece, screwed on??.maybe you can get lucky on ebay and find one with the arm intact??

There was another magazine ad on ebay for the Pflueger Pelican, 88 & Supreme from 1957 according to the seller.

That date would be in line with when I remember my dad getting the reel, sometime in the late 1950s.

Don't forget to make sure it has fresh batteries or a fresh charge, whichever one runs the show. When you get the pictures taken, an 8 year old can put them on your computer for you. There's a whole new world waiting out there for you. Just think, Ray (Paladin) is your age and he does it all the time.

..................this is not going to be easy.....even with my good glasses,it's hard to read the writing on it.....my fingers are too big to push one button at a time......took 5 minutes to find "on"...........what can you expect from people who eat raw fish!!!!..............jeeezzzzz!!!!............. ..........
