All About Pocket Knives

I didn't want to side track the thread so I waited.
I am beginning to like some of these knives with the handles "proud" of the bolsters.
Sort of like many of the older Italian stilettos had.

Am Edge - with you on the proud handles but only on the switches - have one that i really like but our USA's (at least from what i have seen) don't have this enhancement.

I couldn't think of any other example for them but the style is growing on me. I'd like to spot something besides the Italian stilettos that sports them.

EDIT: You can't really see it but the stag is about 3/16" proud of the bolsters

I would CRY..then put ebony handles on it...

Please forgive me for not updating the thread on the old Platts Bros. knife. An AAPK member who collects Platts Bros. is now the owner of the old gal. It was very tempting to have new handles put on it and tote it around but why would I need another EDC? Historical value considered, I feel I made the right choice to trade it to the member who expressed interest in the historical value of the old knife.

I think you made the right call. A display of very old knives that are in as-found condition can be just as interesting and pleasing as a display of mint knives. In fact, I would claim that one knife, with a good story, is just as important and valuable to that knife's owner as a roomful of pristine mint factory 1-offs!
