Great knives guys, Joe I love that Oakland knife! I think the handles might be Gutta Percha?

For a long time I did not have any doctor's knives glad I was able to pick up a few.

Who made the last two?

Thanks guys, about the last 2 knives the one on the left a H. Sears & Son 1865 and the other on the right is one of my Galvanic 1882 knives.

I have been trying to figure out who made the Galvanic knives for years so when I see one that is similar I buy it. The Sears knife is a tiny bit smaller and so is the flat blade. The frames are about the same but the Sears knife has the nail notches and the Galvanic does not. Derek and I go back and forth about where they were made. Mark Zalesky thinks the early Catt's and possibly the Galvanic's are German made but these 2 do not have steel pivot pins? Since JBF"s buddy George Korn went to Europe to buy cutlery wares they might be German or English. I believe that Sears had a factory in Conn till 1881 so that leaves another question since the Galvanic knife is marked 1882??

Here are pictures of 2 more knives, not Doctor's knives that are very similar also. On the top is a Galvanic 1882 and the bottom knife is a William Dartt Limited. I believe that was German firm but Goins has it dated 1898 Germany but that is all.

I know that JBF had knives made in Europe and the US when he first started out as a jobber but would love to know the companies he ordered from??

I have none, but i've always liked them.

I saw this knife at our local gun show. I didn't buy it. It fits in so many different threads. Courios as to who made it.

Man that is one great knife!! Must have been hard to pass on that one!

Mike, it was the first knife in his role I asked to see and the gigging was so crisp.

After looking in GOINS. he says its L.C.A.
