A pair of W.H. Morley scissors that belonged to my great aunt,"Chucha", (in Polish), Bertie , 1901-1996. I found them in a drawer this morning. J.O'.

Six years and I have never seen this thread

Don't collect scissors but I do pick up some that are unusual or stamped with the name of a pocket knife maker.

Here's a pretty elaborate set.

My Dad found these Case XX scissors in an old house on some property he just bought. The scissors have an odd angle to the handle, but we do not know the purpose for it.
They were very rusty so he "cleaned them up". At least the etch is still in good shape!
Sorry for the poor pictures: I just sat them on my knee and shot a few quick pics.

Scott, NICE Case XX stamp. ::tu:: ::tu::
I don't think those scissors left the factory that way.
They appear, at least to me, to have been damaged somehow.
Maybe trying to pry something open? ::shrug::
Still, a VERY interesting conversation piece. ::tu::

New_Windsor_NY wrote: Sat Aug 17, 2019 6:25 pm Back when I worked for Ma Bell, the first time I received a pair of the items shown below, I referred to them as SCISSORS. One of the "old timers" heard me and you'd have thought I insulted his mother. He took me outside and "explained" to me that they weren't called SCISSORS, they were called SNIPS. I never made that mistake again. In fact, when I became an "old timer", I did the same thing to the new guys. Anyway, over the course of my career, I managed to procure a few pairs of SNIPS. On the job, I used them mainly when I was working in the phone cables. At home, I use them to cut through whatever a pair of SCISSORS can't cut through. I can't do it now, but I used to be able to cut a quarter in half (25 cents). I can still cut through a penny and a dime with little effort. These SNIPS are sharp and maintain their edge a long time (the special sharpener & instructions are the last 5 pictures). The SNIPS, from top to bottom as they are marked:

1. Unmarked
2. BELL SYSTEM "C" U.S.A.
3. JAMESON STYLE C U.S.A.
4. JAMESON STYLE C U.S.A.
5. A4 JAMESON STYLE C U.S.A.
6. A4 JAMESON STYLE C U.S.A.
7. B1 JAMESON STYLE C U.S.A.
8. C2 JAMESON STYLE C U.S.A.
9. E1 JAMESON STYLE C U.S.A.
10. F4 JAMESON STYLE C U.S.A.
Ha ha! Amen brother! What a great suite of snips....I received my first Klein cable knife/snip rig back in 1978 with GTE - got told the same thing. Graduated to Weiss snips because the finger holes were bigger. While I too have gone through as many pairs of snips as you show, I still have my original rig. I think I lost more than I kept. I see you cut coins too...who owns these and doesn't? Ever do the beer drinking bet of cutting a penny? When I worked for Northern Telecom then AT&T installing CO's, I earned lot's of beers doing that one! Thanks for sharing these...

I've seen pet grooming scissors with a 30-45 degree bend in them.
