Don't have any recent pictures, but I still play every six months or so.
This throwback pic is from the early 1980s. The ivory colored telecaster is still my favorite. You can just make out the head of my Gibson Les Paul custom in the lower left. It's black and gray sunburst.

I normally try to do requests if they fall within my capabilities. Steve requested a pic of my axe on another thread where I mentioned taking it to a party. The all mahogany is a Martin D-15 that is my primary. It has had some damage to the lower bout from a car accident that was expertly repaired by a luthier in PA. It's got a scar but it's still one of the best sounding guitars I've ever played. It also has Doc Watson's autograph just below the bridge. Doc's grandson guided his hand for the autograph after he played it for a few moments and commented on the fact that I use medium gauge strings (he preferred light gauge). The other guitar is one that I got in a trade. All markings indicating the maker had been removed and it has some issues. Seems to be very well made. I'm planning on doing some work on it and using it as a back up.

She sounds great Steve. I play Bluegrass, mountain music, folk, acoustic rock etc. and she has good projection, great bass, and unbelievable sustain....and she sounds even better when a real guitarist picks on her.

I have a thing for tiny guitars now and one that I really like is the Baby Martin. One day one will fall into my hands. I could probably find one on sale, but they don’t have a pickup and by the time I buy a decent one and deal with the installation...

If you find a guitar that you like you can always use a Dean Markely single coil type pickup. They don't cost a lot and they work pretty well. There's no installation and you can move them from one guitar to another. I don't do electric very often but I have one that I use occasionally and it has worked well for me. Check the link below:

Here are a couple of guitars to wake this thread again...
First is a new Fender Player Series Stratocaster, in Sage green. The new ALNICO pickups sound great in this one - especially through an old tube amp. It's been a long time since I've owned a Strat.

Next is an old 2003 Ibanez Artcore Series AF75 hollow body electric. I was never truly happy with the setup, and the frets were too tall and had a little wear, so I am replacing the nut with a bone version, I filed and polished the frets, pulled all the electronics. Now I'm waiting on my new Bigsby tailpiece, and a set of Seymour Duncan '59 series vintage blues humbucking pickups. I think I may enjoy working on old guitars at least as much as playing them...

Great colour on that Ibanez. The body looks very like my Epiphone Dot. Lots of real estate below the bridge. I’d be curious to hear if they sound similar.
Nice Strat! Mine went south with a former roommate. Oh well, I’m not a lead player anyway.

OK, so I have a question for all you musically-adept people. I love music, and I have always wanted to learn to play an instrument. About 15 years ago I tried to teach myself some guitar, but I failed miserably. I just couldn't make my left hand work the fretboard and I also couldn't even strum simple patterns reliably. Doing both at the same time? Forget it!

Now, I know the first thing you are going to say is: Don't teach yourself, get an instructor. I agree - but that's not my question. My question is: Are there people that simply can't move the fingers of their left hand with enough coordination and independence to play even simple songs? I've tried to do finger exercises where you are required to move each finger independently without moving the other fingers, and I just can't do it! If I move my pinky or ring finger, other fingers move, no matter what.

Am I hopeless? Forever destined to be just a groupie? I'm pretty good with electronics, maybe I can be a roadie...
