Absolutely true. People that don’t know the real thing are accepting poor copies because they don’t have the real deal to compare it to.

If Camillus was an Italian Restaurant. They made great food at a fair price. Nothing too fancy but quality and value.
It goes on for multiple Generations. Ups and downs but pretty consistent. Due to a variety of reasons they are forced out of business.
Then a Chinese couple buys the business. Do you want the stoves and ovens and pots and pans? Nope we have a better way. All our food will be prepared by an Italian Chef. Do you want our recipes? Nope our Italian Chef has his own recipes.
The new owners take over. The kitchen is fully stocked with Chef Boyardee. And a can opener.
For a few years the loyal patrons still come to the restaurant. Full of happy memories and full of hope. They are let down.
The new generation of customers are happy with the food. They don’t know any better.
Once you’ve had veal scalapini spaghetti O’s will never be edible.
Philip, I wonder if the popularity of the tactical / "zombie killer" knives with the younger generation is multifaceted. Maybe influenced by contemperory movies, television, an over protective generation of parents, a couple of generations of urban dwellers, etc, etc.treefarmer wrote:I like what eveled wrote, too and expanding the thought a bit I would say that his term "new generation" has a lot to do with the patterns we now see from most companies, the tactical or as I like to say the "zombie killer".

We also learned that veal scallopini tastes better than Chef Boyardee Spaghetti O's.
