All About Pocket Knives

Off-topic, but MrWatch, we have a very many things in common. A love of pocket knives (obviously), and I also work as a Locksmith, AND I an am amateur horologist - though in my case I typically work on time movements for bank vaults.
If you also happen to be a Baptist minister, then this will be getting too weird!

The Ganzo Firebird FH 11 is an incredibly fine knife and costs about $26. The pivot has bearings, just touch the flipper and the blade flies open and locks up 100% solid. Very smooth action and blade is sharp. Blade profile is similar to a sod buster blade so useful in almost all situations. Regardless of price, it is a great knife.

What brand of Baptist? My dad was a General Baptist/Free Will Baptist preacher as was his brother (my uncle) and a Great-Uncle. One time I asked him what the difference was between G.B. and F.W. Baptists. He said simply, "politics". Colonel26 is also a Baptist minister but I don't remember what brand. There's so many different kinds of Baptist.

You are too good for me!!! I am not that smart that i could copy that from their website. But they are a really good all round knife.

I am also a fan of the A.G. Russell imports from China but I wouldn’t call them cheap. For less expensive Chinese imported traditional style knives I have been favorably impressed with both Colt and Marbles branded knives. They seem a bit better made than most of the Rough Rider knives I’ve handled.

I second the motion on Marbles.

The answer to the OP question is: whether Traditional style or more modern "Tactical-like" knives, there is no "One Best" brand or maker. There are many brands and many manufacturers with sub $30 knives that are excellent impressive knives.
That said there are also some China knives not worth buying at any price but these are now in the minority.
When you select the ones you like best, post the links here and we can tell you our experience with that brand.

The 'Marbles' I played with were very good

but if I were looking to collect i'd consider the Buck line might even go up in value over the long run since they are now discontinued and are part of the Buck history

Are the 37x and 38x series Buck knives discontinued? They are still shown on the Buck website...

Also, aren't all the modern Buck knives also made in China - the Nobleman, Vantage, etc?

Cool - thanks for the list! I didn't realize the Vantage & Quickfire were USA made. I knew the Nobleman & Colleague were made in China, I actually have a Sanrenmu that is nearly identical to the Bucks and I assume Sanrenmu makes them for Buck.
