Top knife, "IMPERIAL MEXICO", the middle knife is an "IMPERIAL HECHO EN MEXICO" and the bottom knife is an "IMPERIAL HECHO EN MEXICO."
Very nice group - congrats on adding the new one. I recently picked up this Mexican theater lobby card for an old Roman Polanski movie. I think it fits in with the theme and I'm planning to display display it with the Hechos...one of these days when I get around to it.
Thank you Jason. That's a good idea. When you get the display set up, I'd like to see it. It should look great. ::tu::

This knife will soon be joining my collection. According to jxr1197 (Jason), it's an Imperial Mexico. When I receive it, I'll give it a looking over and clean if necessary. Pictures will be taken and posted in the appropriate location(s).

***** A special thanks to Jason for bringing this knife to my attention. ::handshake:: *****

Glad you were able to get that one. Cuchilleria Imperial got a lot of mileage out of that moose pattern. In the pic yours is most similar to the bottom knife. The one above it is nicknamed the 'ticket to the dance'. That knife has an interesting history (not suitable to post) and the one on top has the Dos Ciervos tang stamp.

The one I bought resembles the bottom one in your picture, all except for the "animal" on the handle. The one I bought has the same "animal" on the handle as the top knife in your picture.

This arrived yesterday, it's one of the Imperial, "HECHO EN MEXICO" styles of pocket knives. It measures 3 7/8" closed. It has a "Moose Head"(?) on the handles. If there was a tang stamp, it isn't there now. Per jxr1197 (Jason), it is definitely one of the Imperial, "HECHO EN MEXICO" style of pocket knives. It needed some minor cleaning. I took pictures and here it is. Again, sorry for the quality of the pictures, my camera is acting up. At 2:30 p.m. today, I added the scans that I made of the sides of the knife.

Thank you Floyd. ::tu:: As far as I know, Imperial only used 3 "animal heads" on their knife handles. The "Deer Head", the "Moose Head" and the "Longhorn Steer Head." After careful comparison and the process of elimination, I'm 99.99% sure that this is a "Moose Head" on the handles. But.......... ::shrug::

Tonight I purchased this knife, a PASTOR ALEMAN (German Shepherd) pocket knife (less than $16, including shipping & tax). This knife "brand" is part of the Imperial Mexico story/connection. This is the only picture that was available. I really don't know what to expect with this one. When I receive it, I'll give it the once over, take some pictures and post them in the appropriate location(s).

Today, I purchased these two knives for best offer. Both are PASTOR ALEMAN (German Shepherd) pocket knives. This knife "brand" is part of the Imperial Mexico story/connection. They may need cleaning. When I receive them, I'll give them the once over, take some pictures and post them in the appropriate location(s).

This knife arrived yesterday. It's a PASTOR ALEMAN (German Shepherd), single blade pocket knife, with a cap lifter/bottle opener/can opener. This knife "brand" is part of the Imperial Mexico story/connection. This tang stamp does not have the profile of the dog. It needed a little bit of cleaning. I took some pictures and here it is.

That's cool. Basically a knife with a built in church key.

Thank you, it's a handy little gizmo. ::tu:: I won't carry this one. I bought an identical one that is from the PROVIDENCE CUTLERY COMPANY. I'll carry that one, or keep it in my truck.

That's a nice one. I saw that knife (I think it's the same) for sale a while back but the seller had it priced like he was selling one of his kids. Congrats ::tu::
*There's a halfway decent write up on the Mexican Imperials in this month's issue of Knife Magazine.
Jason, this is a great article.
I was a little behind in my Knife Magazine reading, I just finished the article today.

Thanks for the feedback. I researched it out of curiosity - it was a mystery that I couldn't help but pick at. I shared the info online to start conversations about these neglected knives but the idea to publish came later when a couple of collectors suggested sending it over to Knife Magazine. The hardest part was learning how to take pics that would meet the minimum requirements for print - that phrase about old dogs and new tricks applies heavily here!

This is my latest acquisition. It's a PASTOR ALEMAN (German Shepherd), two blade pocket knife. It's 4 3/16" closed and 7 3/8" with the main blade fully open. It also has some weight to it, 3.9 ounces. The main blade has NO nail nick. I'm no expert on handle materials and I don't know what these handles are made of, but they look like they are made of ivory. I could be and probably am wrong. This knife "brand" is part of the Imperial Mexico story/connection. It did need a little bit of cleaning. I took some pictures and here it is.
