These knives came from the factory collection so they may be different than the production models. Some of the knives in the factory collection had no tang stamps.
If there are numbers written in black ink on the blades, then these are "S" Card numbers. The "S" Card will have a date showing when the sample was made. Normally several samples were made: they were sent to the New York office and one or two were kept at the factory.

Hey Tom-(Camco), would you happen to know what year the first Yellow Jacket models came out and if any of the yellow handled knives ever had carbon (1095 ect.) blades? Thanks, duffy.

The first use of the name was 9/27/89, though the first one I saw, was listed in 1990. The blades were 440 stainless back then, and remained so till the end, and also had NS bolsters.
The first ones of 1990, was the 710, 711, 712, 713, 714, 715 and 716.
Interesting to note, is that the 716 was the only one etched with Yello-Jaket.

This thread has been sleeping long enough!!
I was organizing some knives to take to the Oregon Show in April, and put all these Camillus and Camillus-made knives in a display case. For your ogling pleasure, here's a picture. I am a rookie with a camera, so I hope this works!! These are NOT going to the show, BTW, but are the keepers; at least for now.

It's a three-spring Stockman, Kaleb, never produced! There are a couple of pics on page one of this thread. It came from the pattern room, and was given to Phil Gibbs by Albert Baer!

Hey Rusty, it means you have to tack on an extra 15% to the final winning bid to help pay for the auction. Those auctioneers feel like they need to be paid! :x :D

Heres my one and only Camillus, that belonged to my Dad. I'd like to find out something about it. Only thing I know for sure, is that Dad had it a few years (probably 2-5 yrs.) before he passed away in 1991. Any info would sure be appreciated. Griz

Hey Griz, that looks like a Camillius #4 with delrin scales. I believe the tang mark indicates 70's or there abouts. I just sent mine that had wooden scales and a really bad sharpen job on it to MM. I will post some pics of it in Customized factory forum when I get a little time. I love the Camillius lockbacks! Great knife you got there. ::tu::

Thanks Smoke..Looking forward to seeing your knife. On the reverse tang, it has the number 8 stamped on it. I looked at some samples of Camillus tang stamps, and as far as I can tell, it was mid '70's.

Here's the same knife in Boy Scout duds. Has an "Adventurer BSA" etch instead of the "Sword Brand". Same tang stamp though. I've had this one new since the scouting days, which puts it around the mid-seventies I believe. I don't recall if it came with the lanyard or I put it on ::shrug:: ::doh:: . Nice knife, 4 3/4" closed, slippie, no lockback. I liked it so much that I carried it but used another knife for the real nasty stuff. I guess it was my first semi-queen
