Here is a little fishing package. A beautiful no name rod. No ID on it anywhere. Great little trolling/still fishing rod.
Paired with a fine Pflueger "Worth" with jeweled end caps and loaded with braided Dacron line of unknown test.
Tagging along is a Robeson 616613.

Going back a few posts......even though I am from Illinois, I was not familiar with the Illinois Bunn Special watch until I saw one on Antiques Roadshow a couple of years ago. That wasn't you on there, was it, RalphAlsip?

This one was made in 1921 and it a Railroad Watch. Stem set.
It is in great condition and a lot of fun to carry. I also have a old hunk of an Elgin in great condition as well.

I don't want to offend here... but.... if it is a stem set watch it can't be a railroad watch.
Railroad watches were all lever set so the owner couldn't mess with the time. All you could do was wind it and keep it going. If you let your watch run down, you could lose your job. Time keeping was serious business in those days.

That is a beautiful Watch even so.....

That is a beautiful Elgin..... Those are the ones I collect.... Elgins.
Yours has at least 11 jewels.... NICE!!

Mike, you are correct, it is a lever set watch. I misspoke. Certainly no offense taken here. Thank you for the correction.
Just like my watches, I need that from time to time.
Thanks for showing your really cool watch. I have always admired the key set watches. Very neat earlier machines.
I am really out of my league when buying these watches and feel fortunate getting two very nice ones in my early purchases.
I would like to try for a key wind/key set watch at some point.

Here is a very nice little Rollei 35 S.

Although this Rollei was made in Singapore I have given it a German companion.

Here are a few early artifacts.
A beautiful early wood rod with the old trumpet guides and the two way tip top. Intermediate wraps.
A raised pillar casting/bait fishing reel in almost new condition with no Identification on it at all.
Could have been made by Pflueger.
A wonderful old KA-BAR fishing knife. 4 3/8".

Nice, Joe. Having spent a chunk of my life, roughly equidistant and 30 minutes away from South Bend, Kalamazoo, and Dowagiac, Mi, that old reel piques my interest a little more than some.
I mentioned Dowagiac because that was home to Heddon lures, do you own any? Kalamazoo was home to Shakespeare which also made South Bend reels but the South Bend rods and lures were made in South Bend. I have a Shakespeare spincast reel from the 50s or 60s....somewhere around the house.
